Sunburn isn’t ideal and it is always important to be safe whilst out in the sun. So remember suncream! An umbrella! The shade! Despite this, if you so happen to have caught a bit of sun this summer (ouch!) bad luck for you but no need to worry as we have all been there at some point. To ensure it doesn’t happen again ensure you pop suncream on and reapply throughout the day. Too much sun when we’re young can cause wrinkles when were older and nobody wants that. Despite the pain and oh-so-bright redness, there are plenty of ailments for a sunburn but here are some of the top sunburn products to prevent your skin from peeling!
Are you drinking enough? The key to repairing the damaged skin is ensuring it is kept hydrated. Ensure you keep a bottle of water with you, in your bag or in reach. Drinking water replaces the lost fluids when you were out in the sunshine. Losing these fluids mean that the skin has become dry and to get it back in tip-top shape then you need to double up on the h20.
Whilst it is important to keep the skin hydrated from the inside, it is also important to top up the hydration on the outside with a good moisturiser or after sun treatment. It will prevent peeling so layer it on, and layer it on just that little bit more.
Are you finding that water and moisturiser aren’t doing the trick? Fancy something natural? Taking an oatmeal bath might help relieve symptoms or maybe applying milk or apple cider vinegar to the affected area might do the trick. These natural and home remedies have been used by many so why not have a go.
Aloe vera has so many benefits for the skin but even more so why your skin needs extra TLC. It is inexpensive and provides almost instant relief, just what you want right? The aloe vera plant is a saviour and a brilliant natural remedy. Why not grow your own mini plant at home for when you need it, it doesn’t have to be just for sunburn but plenty of other skin concerns or just use it for its wonderful natural abilities!
Woah slow down there and put down that exfoliator! I know its tempting to want to buff off those dead skin cells but trust me and don’t. Taking the skin off before its ready will only cause more damage and pain. Use a moisturising body wash instead. Also stay away from shaving and waxing the affected area until it is healed too. You want to give your skin the best chance of reviving itself so let it do its job! This is one of the important tips on this list of sunburn products to prevent your skin from peeling!
As tempting as it is to get right back out there its important to let your skin have time to heal. Stay in the shade or keep sunburned areas covered and remember to slap on the suncream to make sure the same doesn’t happen elsewhere! It’s much nicer to enjoy the sunshine from a shaded area than having to uncomfortably sit with a sunburn.
Whilst these are helpful remedies for relieving sunburn irritation it is also super important to be safe in the sun so keep topping up that sunscreen, stay hydrated and take to the shade when you need to. Sunburn isn’t worth it!
