Summer outfits can be a difficult thing to figure out especially when you think about all the effort you have put into styling our outfit but as soon as you walk out the house it’s going to be sweaty, hot, and frizzled. When the weather is hot it’s such a blessing for those who love to bare it, but thinking about the sweatiness from the heat is just too tiresome and we might be a little lazier than normal during those days. So, for us fashion lovers with an occasional dose of laziness? Here are 8 summer styling tips that will make morning outfit decisions much easier and maybe it an also help you feel a little more refreshed.
Summer is a time of fun and parties for the most of us since we don’t want to social as much during winter due to the cold and crazy amount of layers that we have to wear. Well, at least that is the case for some of us. So, why not use the warm summer days to flaunt those colour and fun patterns? Especially when we don’t wear as much layers colours and patterns are able to separate the top and bottom layers and allows them to stand out. Pairing the right patterns and colours together can also help us to better shape our figure too!
Skirt, shorts and skorts these are usually the go-to choices during summer, but who said that we can’t differentiate out style from mediocre to stylish? Wearing plain skirts are great when you have a colourful top, but it’s 2019 and the trend is pattern on pattern, so getting yourself that statement mini skirt whether it is snakeskin patterned or full of glitters just know it’s never too much.
During the lazy days we just want to wear something that doesn’t require too much brain work, and here is where dresses come in, but, we fear that maxi dresses are too hot and doesn’t let in enough air to cool us down. The trick is to pick light weight materials such as chiffon or thin linen, and these materials allow air to flow through and it will keep you nice and cool.
Sandals allow our feet to breathe when we are already sweaty and hot we don’t need the heat from covering our feet in boots and sneakers. Sandals are great for summer styles and especially when you add in a bit of a boost – blocked heels – where it can give your leg that elongated effect and make that mini skirt or dress stand out even more! They are incredibly comfortable to walk in as well, but, just don’t go overboard with the heel height.
Crop tops can be both formally paired or casually worn, no matter how you wear them they give your waistline a curved effect. They are extremely cooling and stylish, which is a must-have staple in any summer wardrobe, wouldn’t you agree? Simple pair it with some tight jeans, short, or skirt, and it will be an incredible outfit without needing to strategically style it.
Mesh is great for those who want to stay cool but doesn’t want to bare too much, with all the grace of a dress, minus the thick stifling layers of heavy fabric dress, a sheer mesh dress is definitely the winner. It is also a versatile piece where you can style it with a slip dress, t-shirt and shorts or bralette and jeans, whichever way you style it the outcome is jaw-dropping.
When you are wearing fewer layers and thin pieces of clothing the last thing you want is a huge bag that covers everything up, not only does it take the thunder away from your clothes but it’s also too hot and sticky when in contact with your skin. When it comes to bags, it’s important to go for one that doesn’t touch your skin, such as a crossbody bag with thin chain straps.
Accessories are the most important part when styling summer outfits, sometimes you simply want to rock that cami top or off-shoulder crop top, and when there is a lot of bare skin showing it can seem a little bare, so, wearing statement jewellery pieces to make your neckline stand out is crucial. Not only are these accessories able to boost the stylishness of your outfit but you are able to create different looks with the same top but with a different necklace, earring or body chains.
