A pair of culottes have been the must-have fashion piece of the last year. And for good reason! They are incredibly flattering for all body shapes and can go from day to night with ease. They’re ridiculously comfortable, while still being effortlessly stylish. Which is why they’ve replaced my stack of denim jeans! But as summer quickly approaches it’s time to pack away our tartan and wool and find some new pairs. To help you here are 10 summer culottes to keep you cute and cool.
Starting off with a classic is the striped culottes. They might possibly already be a staple in your spring wardrobe which is fab because they look great in summer too. Fashion has long been obsessed with stripes and they pop up season after season. Stripes come in all shapes and sizes, even directions and are great if you’re looking to elongate the height of your legs.

Look instantly summery! If you’re someone who isn’t used to wearing bright colours then this might seem a little daunting but really it isn’t. If you’re wearing a bright coloured pair of culottes then that means you can style it with monochrome (black, white, grey) top and shoes. There is always the perfect colour to match your skin tone, I personally find a mustard yellow goes well with most.

Another massive craze this year has been leopard print. Goodbye to the days where it was thought of as tacky and hello to the era of classy. Its history is loaded with symbolism, from power to seduction. The perfect statement print with a bit of edge.

Okay, yes, I am still counting this as a pair of culottes! Jumpsuits are everywhere at the moment but have so many different styles and patterns that it’s incredibly easy to stand out and look unique if that is what you want. You can literally just slip them on and feel comfortable. Plus, they’re great in the summer heatwave because they’re so airy.

The opposite of the stripes – the polka dot. Cute and quirky but also easy to transition from day to night-time. I’m certain they go with absolutely everything with a nod to retro. There is something timelessly classic about polka dots. Major Audrey Hepburn vibes!

Very casual and laidback are linen culottes. Perfect for travelling because they’re so lightweight and airy.

The name of these might sound a bit rubbish, literally, but that’s very deceiving as paper bag style pants are extremely trendy and flattering. Super-high-waisted to sit just above your belly button and normally comes with an attached belt. They cinch at the waist to give you that smaller frame appearance and highlight your curves. The key to getting the styling right is to ensure you wear a top you can tuck in.

What screams summer holiday? A palm tree! Just close your eyes and imagine laying on the hot beach under the shade of a gorgeous palm tree. Heaven! To get you there quicker or have that feeling wear it instead.

Vintage scarf print is relatively new back into fashion but all over the spring/summer runways. Gives off a very expensive and classy vibe.
