5 Signs You Are In A Trendy Place In London

A trendy place in London usually looks in a particular way. Places that tick the right boxes have a potential of becoming trendy. Nowadays, it seems that places become trendy if they have good spots to take pictures. Instagram potential is dictating trends and you might recognise these five signs you are in a trendy place in London.

1. Neon Signs

Most neon signs will get attention even if they don’t say something cool. It can be a neon palm tree, a circle, a triangle, one word. It will get even more attention if it says something more interesting. It has to have some kind of message or statement, such as: ‘well behaved women don’t make history’ or ‘support your local girl gang’.

2. Pink

Pink is still in. Have you wondered why pink is so popular? It might actually be as simple as the fact that in 2016 Pantone’s colour of the year was Rose Quartz. According to Pantone, pink represents a gender blur that’s been occurring in society. Pink is definitely an interesting choice for that purpose.

In case you didn’t know, pink was for some time regarded as a more masculine colour, because of it’s association with red (which is warlike), as well as evoking health ad youth. In recent years it has been making a revival in men’s daily attire. However, it is still generally regarded as a “girly” colour.

The trend has also been attributed to The Grand Budapest Hotel and its use of blush pink, also known as millennial pink, because millennials love it.

Wherever the trend comes from, pink can be seen in many trendy places around London, whether it’s a shop, a cafe or a bar. It’s everywhere! And, I’m not gonna lie, it’s kinda nice.

3. Mirrors

Have you ever been to Ballie Ballerson. That place has glasses all around. Mirrors are everywhere, especially popular on ceilings or full length on walls, usually on more than one. They are predominant in clubs and are often the subject of Instagram pictures.

Mirrors have been prominent in interior design for ages. They make the space look bigger and more spacious. However, they have been used predominantly for other effects too. Distorting mirrors have been popular attractions at carnivals and fairs. Think about the house of mirrors or hall of mirrors. A favourite of action scenes in films and the occasional horror film. Think, something between the two when it comes to clubs. Don’t know exactly what it is, but they can sometimes look odd, especially if they’re not mirrors, but mirror wallpapers, which tends to happen a lot.

5. Marble

Marble, it’s been everywhere. Marble hasn’t been this in since Ancient Greece. Modern graphic designers have been bringing back the trend for a while. It’s now in every type of design: Print design, web design, fashion design, interior design, product design… all the design. It’s everywhere. You’ll not only find it in a trendy place in London, but also in your product packaging, notebooks, clothes, jewellery, websites, interior design.

When it comes to a trendy place, there’s a big chance you’ll see marble there. It could be on tables, as wallpaper, on glasses, coasters and others. And it’s going to result in some great pictures.
