To kiss or not to kiss that is the question. People have so many opinions about what you should and shouldn’t do on a first date. At the end of the day what you do is your business. No one seems to be able to make a decision on this topic though, so should you kiss on the first date? Here’s what we think.
Going too fast with someone could leave you with a lot of unanswered questions that it is unfortunately too early to ask. Kissing (among other things) adds an intimate element to a relationship and you have to be careful that you don’t open yourself up just to get hurt a week later when he decides he isn’t really feeling it.
A lot of men use it as an indicator as to whether the girl is interested and whether she wants to continue seeing him. Sometimes if they don’t get a kiss they assume you don’t want to see them again.
Women, on the other hand, tend to see kisses as more intimate embraces. This comes as an evolutionary advantage of not wanting to rush into getting stuck with a terrible mate’s kid. This means that while you are also looking to find out if he is into you, you are naturally more cautious about it due to the higher amount of commitment it could mean for you.
At the end of the day, everybody is different when it comes to dating. You really need to feel it out for yourself. If you are feeling your date and are of age, go as far as you feel comfortable too. As long as you don’t feel pressured into anything you can go all the way. It doesn’t matter, just make sure you’ll be ok if he calls it off after the third date.
