Here’s How To Create The Royal Wedding Makeup Of Meghan Markle

Looking to get Meghan Markle’s royal wedding makeup look? I think we can all agree that Meghan Markle looked flawless on her wedding day. I loved the classy and natural, nude colour scheme; it suited her skin and made her look like a true princess.

As predicted, Meghan chose a classic makeup look. She appears to be wearing her signature soft nude smoky eye, long lashes, bold brows, and pink lips. Her beloved freckles are in view and her complexion looks perfectly dewy—as if she’s not wearing any makeup on her skin at all.

If you want to look like Meghan did then here is how to create her royal wedding makeup look with products from the high street.

Base

Always ensure you use a primer before applying any foundation or concealer as it stops the makeup slipping and keeps your skins soft and supple. To copy Meghan’s royal wedding makeup use a luminous primer with added shine. The best choice is Iconic London’s Prep Set Glow in original tone as it contains light reflecting particles like will make your skin glow like Meghan’s.

Foundation

To get a fresh dewy look like Meghan’s  royal wedding makeup, I would opt for L’Oreal’s true match liquid. L’Oreal’s velvety formula matches your skin’s unique tone and texture, for a true to skin finish: flawless, blendable, and never fake. There are 28 shades to choose from which range from warm to neutral to cool undertones, to ensure your foundation is right for you. Whilst your skin tone is visible on the surface and can alter through the seasons, your skin undertones are determined at a deeper level, they are part of your skin and never change. This foundation will even allow your freckles to show through like Meghan’s as it isn’t cakey and thick.

Cheeks

As always Meghan chose more of a bronze cheek as opposed to a blush. To get this look use Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. It is free from tell-tale sparkle or shine which allows you to look like you are wearing no makeup at all. Simply sweep it over cheeks, chin and forehead and all will be fooled into thinking that you’ve just returned from a sun-drenched holiday. Great for contouring, the bronzer is accompanied by a soft, natural-bristle brush for effortless application.

Eyes

Meghan loves a smokey eye for any evening occasion, as well as for her wedding day, but it is a three part process. First apply a pencil eyeliner to the water line; I’ve chosen MAC’s in shade Teddy because it isn’t matte and has a bronze undertone to it. You can even apply a little bit to the eye line and blend it out for an even more defined smokey eye.

Secondly apply a small amount of eyeshadow; Meghan doesn’t like wearing too much. Go for something with a slight shimmer such as MAC’s Amber Times Nine Palette. Start with the shade Cork and fill the crease lightly then blend it with the shade Pepper Please. Finally to add a dash of glamour blend the shade Creative Copper over the eyelid and blend the shade Kitties into the inner corner of the eye to make them pop. This natural eye is crucial to getting Meghan’s royal wedding makeup look!

The third step to having eyes like Meghan Markle is lashes. Meghan loves long fluttery lashes that could swoo any man. I recommend either Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara, if you want to stick to your own natural lashes, or if you want something super fluffy go for Ardelle Wispies.

Highlighter

You can see for yourself that Meghan is not an avid highlighter wearer. However to add a slight glow you can opt for Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator. Each shade within this highlighter imparts a ridiculously luminous finish that shines without any sparkle. Apply a small amount to your nose and cheek bones.

Brows

Meghan’s brows are untamed yet refined; she loves a bushy brow. I love using MAC’s Eye Brow Styler in shade Brunette. It is self propelling and self sharpening so there is no hassle; just high definition brows. Choose the colour suitable for your brow, and shade the edge in lightly before brushing it through with the attached spoolie.

Lips

The final step to create the Royal Wedding Makeup look of Meghan Markle is lips. Meghan chose a soft pink lip for her wedding to I would recommend choosing MAC’s Velvet Teddy matte lipstick.

So now you know how to create the Royal Wedding makeup look of Meghan Markle, why not give it a go at home!
