Reasons You Should Start A Health Journal

Changing your lifestyle into a healthy one can be quite tricky. Sometimes it’s hard to see what is working for your body and what is keeping you away from achieving your goals! However, there is a way to make things easier for you and that is starting a health journal. Don’t know if it’s something for you? Here is a list of all the reasons you should start a health journal today!

1. Allows to keep track of your goals

The first reason to start a health journal is to help you realise what goals you want to achieve. Writing it all down is key when you want to make a change. It helps you visualise yourself in the place you want to be in! What is more, when you start a health journal, you know exactly where your list is and it’s easy to look back at it when you feel like your motivation is going down. It’s also easy to mark what you have already achieved and add more goals to the list!

2. Helps you see patterns in your behaviour

Sometimes you don’t realise that some situations can trigger your falling off track and cheating when it comes to your diet. This is why you should start a health journal! After a while of tracking what happens, you will be able to see some of your triggers and how your body reacts to certain foods and situations. The knowledge of that will then help you minimalise some of the situations and will help you stay on track in the future. What is more, while taking notes of the way your body behaves you will learn so much more about it, not only when it comes to health, but life in general.

3. You have one place to keep all your data in

Measuring yourself and checking your weight can be an important factor when you are trying to get fit and healthy. That’s why you should keep them somewhere safe and in one place to see your progress better. A health journal can help with that. You can organise it to your liking so it’s easy and accessible for you. Looking back at how your body changes will give you the power to push through any hard times.

4. Makes it easier to stay on track

Writing everything down holds you more accountable for your actions. It feels so good to note all your achievements, it motivates you and puts everything into perspective. However, if you cheat on your diet and have to physically confess, even to yourself, makes you think twice before making that mistake ever again. After journaling for a while, it gets really exciting to share the good news. What is more, when you feel like giving up reading about all your accomplishments will boost up your energy for days!
