8 Reasons You Should Be Drinking 8 Glasses Of Water A Day

The best boost you can inject into your whole body is to start drinking 8 glasses of water a day… or thereabouts! Mix with no-added-sugar fruit squash or stir into green tea, if plain old H2O is hard for you to swallow, then always carry a fashionable bottle on the go to motivate you to stay sipping. Here’s 8 reasons you should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day! You’ll feel the benefits instantly, inside and out.

1. Maintain a healthy weight

Keeping your bodies’ liquid levels lifted helps your metabolism tick tock like clockwork. Does this mean we can eat more chocolate? Maybe. But, one key reason you should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day is that your appetite will remain in check. You’ll feel satisfied for longer and pesky, late-night carby cravings won’t crop up before bed.

2. Flush toxins and cals

Just been sweating it out at the gym? Give your body the fluids it now needs to break down fatty, unwanted substances stored in your muscle tissue and drop the weight you’ve worked so hard to burn off.

3. Be kind to your kidneys

Drinking 8 glasses of water a day will also assist your kidneys in tackling that high protein, post-exercise shake or meaty meal. If you have experienced kidney stones or chronic Urinary Tract Infections in the past – water is your best bet!

4. My, what glowing skin you have

Swigging water is the simplest way to reduce puffiness, wrinkles, under eye bags, oily spots and dry flakey skin (make that all the combinations ticked!). Plus, straight out the tap, it’s certainly cheaper than Botox, fillers or stocking up on branded facial products! Snacking green on water-filled veggies, such as cucumber, broccoli, spinach and celery, will work this magic too.

5. Regular ‘movements’

Let’s face it, constipation seriously doesn’t suit anyone. Improved digestion and speedier absorption of food into our systems is a great, gutsy one of our reasons you should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day. To, you know, ‘go’ every day. Bottoms up!

6. Stay headstrong

Studies have revealed important links between hydration, energy and concentration. Want to ace an upcoming assignment or important test? You should be fueling your brain with the recommended 8 glasses a day. Headaches are often a symptom of mild dehydration. So, stay sipping at your desk to avoid tiredness, painful migraines or squinty screen-eyes syndrome.

7. Heal cells faster

Downing your daily dosage is the quickest trick to tame any hangover that’s fuzzing your mind, while delivering the necessary nutrients to rebuild every inch of you. Your body is 60% water, after all.

8. Dodge the doc

The more water you drink, the less likely you are to suffer from health problems in the future, like heart attacks. And, glugging 8 glasses of the good stuff a day is proven to boost immune functions, keep your body’s temperature within the right zone on the thermometer, combat colds and fight the flu.
