4 Reasons Why This Is The Best Body Lotion For Dry Skin

Is the dragging winter season making your skin suffer? Searching for the perfect lotion for dry skin can be rough. If you have dull and flaky texture then this is the best body lotion for dry skin!

As a dry-skinned girl, I’ve made it my mission to embrace (and by “embrace” I mean “constantly search for products to improve”) my flaky visage. I present to you the best body lotion for dry skin.

Epaderm Cream

My main weapon is Epaderm Cream- it’s the best moisturising lotion I’ve ever bought. It’s like a far more hardcore E45. The good news: if you have eczema/psoriasis/another dry skin-related condition, you can get Epaderm lotion prescribed by your doctor.

1. It’s Affordable

The other good news: you can get it on Amazon for a bargain or check it out at your local Boots counter!

2. Multi-Use

The best thing about this lotion is that you can literally use it for everything. (Disclaimer: if you eat it/put it in the gas tank of your car/snort it etc I am not responsible.) It doubles as a soap and the consistency is so thick you can use it as a super-moisturising shaving lotion. It’s great value for money — a 500ml bottle has lasted me over a year, and I slather it on every day. I can not stress it enough that this is the best body lotion for dry skin, ever!

3. Deep Moisturiser

Because Epaderm forms a protective layer of cream over the skin rather than sinking in fully, it’s best used as a night-time moisturiser or if you’re having a #nomakeup day. If you really do want to use it as a base for foundation, be prepared to let the lotion sink in for a while.

Pro tip: If your face (like mine) is as dry as the Sahara, you’ve probably been told to take lukewarm showers, avoid soaking in the bath, and generally minimise your exposure to hot water. If your nationality (like mine) is British, and in the winter it’s -5C outside, you probably aren’t too keen on cold water.

4. It Gives Dewy Skin

Instead of dooming yourself to an eternity of lukewarm washing, try applying a layer of lotion to your face before you get in the shower/bath to protect it from the ravages of the hot water and then gently rinsing it with cold afterwards. Say hello to your new dewy-skinned existence!
