The hoover family decide to help their daughter (Abigail Breslin) to win the Little Miss Sunshine contest. By doing this, they have to take a suicidal uncle, an annoying grandfather and a grumpy teen along for the ride. Their sanity is stretched to the limit with finding out truths and trying to get to the contest on time despite having a dead body in the boot.

A mentally unstable auditor, played by Will Ferrell, can hear an author’s voice (Emma Thompson) in his head and discovers he’s her protagonist in her book. Queen Latifah also stars in this funny yet heartbreaking film as a book company employee who is supposed to encourage Emma Thompson to keep writing.
