Is Primark Makeup Really Worth All Of The Hype It’s Getting?

mm
Primark makeup has made a name for itself in the cosmetics scene. Have you tried Primark makeup yet yourself? Is it worth buying?

Primark have created their own makeup and although Primark is known for their extremely low prices and basic quality, their makeup line has shocked the nation because not only is it cheap, but it may actually be as good as drugstore brands. So let’s examine some of their makeup products to see if Primark makeup is really worth the hype.

PS Longwear Foundation

Many compare the PS Longwear foundation to the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation because of its appearance, as it comes in a similar frosted glass bottle. PS Longwear Foundation has a very small shade variation with only 5 shades to choose from! That doesn’t really give us much to work with, but regardless it only retails for £5 and it contains 32ml which is slightly more than Double Wear gives us. The foundation claims to have a matte finish and full coverage, but appears to have a natural finish once applied and looks dewy on the skin. Have you tried this product from the Primark makeup line?

PS Nudes Highlight and Contour Kit

I don’t know what you think… no shade no tea, but the PS Nude Contour Kit is most definitely a cheaper imitation of the KKW Crème Contour Kit. The brushes look exactly the same and the contour and concealer sticks are exactly the same in appearance, but it is £8 which is so much cheaper than Kim is charging us. Sorry Kim. However they only have one shade for everyone which makes absolutely no sense to me… and the colours are not the best neither. Doesn’t sound like a match to KKW if you ask me.

PS Banana Powder

Primark have created their own take on the Benye Banana Powder and it may even been slightly better. Even though it is Banana powder, it isn’t too yellow toned so it can be used for lighter complexions as well as darker complexions rather than a translucent powder and it definitely sets your concealer creating a airbrushed finish with no flashback, but does cause slight under eye creasing. Have you tried this product from the Primark makeup line?

PS My Perfect Concealer

The packaging style of My Perfect Concealer is very similar to the NARS Concealer. Primark doesn’t really have a various shade selection, regardless the concealer itself has a natural finish and light coverage which unfortunately doesn’t vanish fine lines and under eye bags. However if you are trying to create a natural makeup look, then you could get away with using this concealer.

PS Skinny Brow Pencil

This brow pencil is very similar to Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz and NYX Micro Brow Pencil, it has a spoolie on one end and the pencil on the other, but we’ll let Primark off this one as it seems to be a common trend. Apparently this eyebrow pencil is the absolute bomb! The pencil is smooth and easy to apply which is exactly what we need in an eyebrow pencil. PS Get Lippy Lip Kits

As soon as we hear lip kit we instantly think of KylieCosmetics, but of course Primark being the dupe king has also created a lip kit which is extremely similar to KylieCosmetics. The Get Lippy Lip Kits involves a lip liner and a matte liquid lipstick, the pencil itself isn’t the best as it feels quite dry once applied and doesn’t have a strong pigment, however the matte liquid lipstick is easier to apply, but does feel chalky once it dries on the lips.

PS Liquid Highlighter Drops

These highlighter drops have beautiful shades that I think we can all appreciate. The drops are slightly harder to blend and dries super quick on the skin, however once it is blended out, it has a nice shimmery glow. Have you tried this product from the Primark makeup line?

PS Urban Palette

Urban Palette… Urban Decay dupe? The name and similarities in packaging style leads us to believe that this palette may be an exact dupe of the Beach Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay, but the colours a very different. The colours have great pigmentation, but is hard to apply to the eyelid and difficult to blend out. Meh… its only £4 so can we really complain?
