Thinking of going to Birmingham City University? Or have you just started and want to know what you’re in for? These are the 10 people you will always run in to at Birmingham City University, there is probably more but I’m sure you will find those out for yourself once you start!
We were all first years once and know how daunting but exciting it feels to start university. However, first years are the easiest to pick out from the crowd. With their nervous yet smiling faces, they are down to talk to anyone and won’t hesitate in asking silly questions. They cannot seem to write / type fast enough about what their lecturer is saying to them, and will write about every detail from their first lecture.
One word, awkward. It might have been a great idea at the time, but when you are walking towards them in a narrow corridor, you probably will want the floor to swallow you up. That is unless you both have agreed to ‘meet’ up again!
It is so obvious to spot the party people. Rolling in to lectures in their hoodies and jeans, messy hair and tired eyes. Yet, you can be sure to see them at the Student’s Union later that evening. These guys are hardcore.
Everyone knows who the Gap year people are, because they won’t stop talking to you about their Gap year and how cultural they have become because they didn’t wash their hair for a few days and wore the same trousers for a week. Yawn!
You see these guys either driving extra slow around your university campus or they hang around outside the entrance in small groups trying to act cool, but it’s actually pretty desperate. They don’t actually go to your university, they’re just hoping to pick up some hot students.
Possibly the most annoying of the people you will meet at university. They will not take no for an answer and they are the most persistent people you will ever meet. One minute you could be walking to the toilet, the next you’ve bought a ticket to a Pub Crawl. Great.
Easily distinguishable from what they wear to uni lectures. Rugby shirts, tracksuit bottoms or an extra bag carrying their kit for training after class has finished. They’re usually loud and extra confident and know how to command attention of a room.
The International students mostly keep to themselves and their own little circles. They have their own groups and normally don’t welcome any outsiders in to join. Most of the International students have amazing style and always have the latest designer handbag.
The annoying pest that keeps asking girls whether they are single or not. Even if you answer with No, he will still try and win you over. Sometimes its easier to pretend that you speak another language and have no idea what he’s asking you.
The fashion students are easy to spot because they, well, look really fashionable! Always wearing the latest trend or something they have created themselves, the fashionistas keep to their own people. If you’re unlucky enough to run in to a 3rd year fashion student, they will tell you how busy they are and how exhausting their course is,whilst sipping on their Chai Latte from Starbucks.
