At one point the oversized sunglasses were such a craze that you would find every single person including men owning a pair. And well why not? They are super cool, stylish and classy. Some even profess they are better as they protect the face more from the sun, well I am not quite sure about that but yeah I do own 3 pairs of the oversized sunglasses myself.
As per Wikipedia oversized sunglasses, which were fashionable in the 1980s, are now often used for humorous purposes. They usually come in bright colors with colored lenses and can be purchased cheaply. The singer Elton John sometimes wore oversized sunglasses on stage in the mid-1970s as part of his Captain Fantastic act. Since the late 2000s, moderately oversized sunglasses have become a fashion trend. There are many variations, such as the “Onassis, “discussed below, and Dior white sunglasses.
As time goes by there are newer trends and fashion statements made, last year we spotted our famous celebrities with sleek squarish sunglasses. And so most of their fan following tend to do so as well. But again that was a phase and the super stylish oversized sunglasses are back in style!
