When it comes to what the characters wore on Friends, everyone usually focuses on Rachel, this because she has influenced many trends and is the friend who works in the fashion world; or Phoebe, this coming down to her quirky dress sense which has her usually wearing quite unexpected outfits. With these two catching most viewers attention by what they wear, what Monica wears usually goes unnoticed, but she is just as fashionable as Rachel and Phoebe. As this month is the 25th Anniversary of the first episode of Friends, we have compiled a list of Monica’s top 10 outfits, that we still can’t get over, in celebration!
Monica is the queen of doing comfy and casual stylishly. There isn’t a better example of the then this simple black crop top and black and white striped culottes which look like they were made to be worn together. Not only is this outfit great, we know that she must be super comfortable as well!
This white, embroidered vest top is extremely cute, especially when paired with Monica’s trademark mom jeans and navy jacket. Can you think of a better outfit to stalk the person who stole your identity and attend a tap dance class in?
Now we know Monica is the queen of casual, but she can dress up as well and does it amazingly. If you have ever watched Friends you might have noticed that Monica wears a lot of red, and it’s obvious why – the colour looks stunning on her!
Talking about the colour red and Monica, this is probably her most highly appreciated outfit from all seasons of Friends. The ripped mom jeans paired with the button down red cami and white converse are so extremely 90s and we are obsessed!
If you are an avid watcher of Friends, you most likely will have noticed that Rachel and Monica both sported t-shirts and sweaters with the same ‘Girls’ slogan on them, and they’re so cute! To say that Monica can pull of a simplistic look is an understatement. Though she is just wearing a fitted black top and a pair of mom jeans, she looks so good! It is here that we can see how her style is overshadowed by Rachel’s and Phoebe’s, but there is no denying that she looks amazing.
Who knew an oversized shirt could look so good? Well, Monica did! The messy low ponytail, hastily rolled up sleeves and slight tuck at the front of her jeans show that this was an effortless outfit to put together, but it still creates a great look.
Not only can Monica do casual and dressy, but she can create a killer workout outfit as well. The baggy hoodie paired over the black bicycle shorts and sports bra looks so good and honestly would be something we would wear nowadays.
As Monica’s fashion is a bit more tomboyish in style, we love it when we get to see her in a short sundress. This neutral coloured shirt dress keeps in style with Monica’s laid back fashion while giving her a new look which we love.
It would almost be criminal to not include Monica’s New Years Eve gown from season 1 among her best outfits. The silver satin halter neck is absolutely to die for and is timeless. If we saw this in a store today we would buy it in a heartbeat!
