It can be difficult planning a run of the mill holiday, let alone a holiday where you’re traveling across the continent! A few of my BFFs and I will be taking an interrailing trip this upcoming week, so I have a few tips for any fellow nomads longing to see what Europe has to offer!
Time is paramount when organising a trip; it depends on how much time you can get off work and so on. Time is the basis for your trip so make sure this is the first thing you have figured out when setting out to plan an interrailing trip!
This is an obvious one, but one if the most crucial decisions you and your BFFs will have! Once again, however long your holiday will be will depend on where you go! Watch some travel vlogs to get some inspiration! Check out FunforLouis, Amelia Liana, Sammy Robinson and Janni Deler!
The number one rookie mistake is planning out a lavish trip, going from Barcelona to Prague via train, but then realising that it’s not an opinion! It’s all well and good dreaming, but sometimes those ideas are just plain unrealistic!
Once you have decided on where and when your interraiing experience will take place, it’s time to book that pass! The inter rail passes can vary from 206 euros, to 493 euros! Ticket prices vary on how many days you will be traveling for, as well as how many destinations!
Once you have your flights and train pass booked, you can then estimate how much on average you will be spending. For example, download the hostel world app to price how much, on average, a hostel per night will cost you!
If you’re a control freak, like myself, you must learn that everyone has a contribution into the holiday! Ask everyone where they would like to go and what they want to see! You will test each other’s patience, but it’s all for an amazing trip!
Have a look on travel sites, such as Lonely Planet, Tripadvisor, Hostelworld, Freetours.com and so on in order to get an idea of what each city has to offer! Also, read up on travel blogs and see where the most instagrammable beer gardens or museums are!
While it is paramount that you try to organise as effectively as possible, remember to have a bit of fun! There’s only so many times you’ll get the opportunity to travel the world and meet new people with your BFFs; so take a step back and savour the moment. Happy Travels!
