Everything You Need To Know About The Olaplex Hair Treatment
My hair has become the one thing in my beauty regime that I care for most. So when I heard about a new product on the block I had to investigate. The newest product in hair care is the Olaplex hair treatment, yet another product that comes highly recommended by the queen Kim Kardashian herself; a beauty and fashion icon. Apparently, word on the street is, it is how Kim has kept her locks luscious after her bleaching triumphs. So if you have ever thought her bleached white hair or candy pink hair was a wig, think again: it was her real hair just taken care of by a new miracle treatment. The Hair Perfector No.3 is apparently suitable for use at home and can transform your hair in 10 minutes. Professionals, in salon, use No. 1 and No.2. Seeing as usually the product is used in salons, it is said to be best to use in between salon visits. But what is it about it that we non-experts need to know?
What is Olaplex?
Olaplex hair treatment was founded by Dean Christal, who decided to team up with scientists Dr Craid Hawker and Dr Eric Pressly to invent an entirely new molecule which works from within the hair to repair damaged ends. It works primarily once the hair’s structure has begun to break down after harsh treatments such as bleaching, straightening and dyeing.
How to use Olaplex?
Olaplex hair treatment is a deep and permanent hair repair. It helps prevent hair breakage and damage to be halted by the addition of a chemical, therefore it is ideal for use on bleached hair, before and after bleaching. The treatment has three parts: two in-salon services, and one at-home treatment. The first salon step, No. 1, is mixed into whatever hair treatment you’re getting (say you’re bleaching your roots or getting a toner) and applied onto your hair as normal. The second salon step, No. 2, is applied onto your hair like a conditioner once your chemical treatment is washed out. It then gets rinsed out before your final styling. No.3 is then applied at home. The instructions for the Hair Perfector No.3 claim to be: Apply a generous amount to towel-dried hair and comb through. Leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes. Keep in mind, the longer it’s on, the more effective it is. Rinse, shampoo and condition. It is very important not to shampoo your hair before application and just to wet it.
But does it really work?
Expert Guerra says that the in-salon treatment really does help restore hair health, despite customer reviews being mixed with regards to how it treats hair, but all in all the verdict is that it works. People have been left with softer feeling hair that looks and smells amazing. I am yet to believe whether or not it really does do anything different than any other hair treatment I have used before. I can’t wait to try it out and see for myself. Maybe then I will have hair as lush as Kim Kardashian, who knows?
