Not Your Mum’s Mimosa: 10 Twists On A Classic Drink

Classic mimosas — a mix of champagne and orange juice — have always been a brunch staple. But just because it’s a classic doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. If you’re looking to spice up the traditional mimosa, look no further. Here are 10 twists on the classic drink that will have you seeing mimosas in a totally new light. These are totally not your mum’s mimosa.

1. Mango Mimosa

Keep your mimosa as simple as the classic but switch up the flavours by using fresh mangoes and mango juice instead. This will add a nice sweetness and a tropical flavour to the classic mimosa.

2. Peach Melba Mimosa

This is a great sweet yet fruity mimosa recipe that would be perfect for any brunch or gathering. The flavours of peach and berries are a match made in heaven and will have you feeling extra festive!

4. Pomegranate Kombucha Mimosa

Feeling fancy? This one’s for you. You’ll still get an amazing flavour (and a bit of a health kick) by replacing half your orange juice with orange Kombucha. The addition of pomegranate not only makes this drink beautiful, it also makes it extra tart. This is definitely not your mum’s mimosa.

5. Grapefruit and Rosemary Mimosa

Fresh herbs are a great way to update the classic mimosa. Simply swap out orange juice for grapefruit juice and add in some swigs of rosemary for an earthy, fragrant twist.

6. Blackberry Mint Mimosa

While blackberry and mint is a combination that goes great in mojitos, did you know it can work just as well in mimosas? Use this recipe if you want a super refreshing brunch cocktail that just screams summer.

7. Strawberry Shortcake Mimosa

Make your mimosa double as dessert by opting for this super sweet recipe. The addition of vanilla vodka, strawberry ice cream and crushed wafers will make you forget about your favourite ice cream sundae.
