My 10 Minute Makeup Routine

mm
Sometimes you need to get ready quickly in the morning. That being said, I have a 10 minute makeup routine that just may work for you, too!

As a uni student, I simply don’t have the time (or energy) to do a full face of makeup every single day. However, I still like to look put-together, so I’ve learned to pick products that are easy to apply and work for on-the-go. If you’d like some tips on how to save time doing your makeup each day, check out my 10 minute makeup routine and adapt it for yourself!

1. Start with a moisturised base

I don’t use primer on a daily basis, so it’s important to moisturise really well to create a smooth canvas for my makeup. Even oily skin types need to moisturise so make sure not to skip this step. By hydrating your skin it not only looks fresher and brighter, but it can actually prevent the over-production of oil throughout the day. Just make sure to pick one that works well for your skin type! This is an important start to a 10 minute makeup routine!

2. Choose a lightweight, natural foundation

If you have good skin already, you can even go ahead and skip foundation altogether. But sometimes, we all need a little help. Opt for products that you can apply with your fingers so you don’t have to waste time with brushes or makeup sponges. For everyday, tinted moisturisers or BB creams are a great choice, as they’ll give your skin coverage without being too heavy.

3. Cover imperfections with a multi-tasking concealer

Find a concealer formula that works for under your eyes and also helps to cover up spots and blemishes. I personally find creamy concealers in pots or sticks best for this, as you can really focus the product on the spots that need coverage. Again, stuff that you can blend out with your fingers is best and will save you tons of time when getting ready!

4. Add a flush of colour to your lips and cheeks

Lip and cheek tints are my best friends, because they’re so easy to apply all over your face. Plus, because you’re only using one colour on your lips and cheeks, your whole makeup look ties together really well. Look for creamy products that blend out easily so you that you can apply these on the go if need be. Top tip: going for a bold lip colour like red or berry will make you look like you’re wearing a full face of makeup even if you’re only wearing one product!

5. Don’t forget mascara!

For a 10 minute makeup look, I usually don’t have time for eyeshadow or even eyeliner. But that doesn’t mean that I forego eye makeup altogether. Make your eyes stand out and look more awake by curling your lashes and popping on some mascara. Full, thick lashes will really make a big difference to your overall look.
