Lush has a place within my heart for a number of reasons – the cosmetics company have staff on hand at all times in their stores to help you with any questions or queries regarding their products or your skin’s needs, they have a black pot recycling and discount policy which I love, and they use as many fresh and natural ingredients as they can!
I’m a massive fan of theirs and have had a wealth of their products fly in and out of my bathroom cabinet for years now. Some of those listed below have been favorites of mine for a while, and some of them are new discoveries that I absolutely adore and feel the need to shout about:
It goes without saying that all Lush products smell amazing (at least, I think they do), but this stuff is right up my street, in the front door and climbing into my bed scent wise. I love it. I used to just use this as a hand cream in the evenings before I went to bed but not use it all over my body and I’ve never slept better. Maybe it’s all psychological, but I can’t be without it now. It’s extremely thick and so is particularly good for those with dry skin or best used before bed so that you’re not slipping and sliding all over the place in your clothes while you’re out and about during the day.
I’ve used this shampoo for a while now and it lasts forever. I still buy the tiny bottles rather than the big ones and it seems to go months without needing to be replaced. You only need the smallest amount for it to work perfectly, and trust me, this stuff really does its job right. I have particularly dry skin at the moment and was worried that this would be too deep a clean, irritating my scalp, but so far I haven’t had any issues! Seems to be the right choice for any skin type, but check with the staff in case you’re hair needs something it won’t get from this product. When I use it I always follow up with a very hydrating conditioner.
Lush do a whole range of lip scrubs depending on the time of year, like the Bubblegum Lip Scrub featured below, but my ultimate favorite has to be either their Mint Julip Scrub or their Honey Scrub. This is simply because I prefer the smell of these two scrubs to their others, but all of them do a fantastic job of exfoliating your lips. Perfect for that plump ‘kiss me’ look – if that’s the kinda thing you’re after. It also just makes them hella soft and I appreciate that.
This is a relatively new find for me and I’m not sure I’ll ever go back as long as their making it. It’s one of the most hydrating things I have ever used on my skin and is perfect as a repairing and rejuvenating night cream. It is extremely thick and I wouldn’t recommend using it during the day as the shine on your face will be oh so real, but after you’ve taken off your makeup or when you’re heading to bed and need your skin to be all healthy and refreshed for the morning, this should be your go to.
If I could use this every time before I washed my hair and not be broke because I bought so much of it, I would. Once a week, when I remember, this is my go-to pamper night treat. Another lush product that just smells incredible, this guy really wakes up my scalp and gives my hair a huge boost. If you’ve got someone around to massage this into your scalp you’re in for a treat because there’s not much that’s ever felt better. Think minty zen perfection.
I don’t use this one often as it’s an extreme glow, but if you’re looking for something to make your cheekbones POP then this highlight is the one for you. Whenever I’ve worn it I’ve received many compliments, and it’s another product that lasts absolutely ages as you only need the smallest amount. Lush do actually suggest that you mix this product with your foundation for a glowy skin boost, but I haven’t tried this yet. Maybe give it a go and let us know what you think?
This Lush product is another one to be used sparingly, depending on the type of hair you have of course. My hair likes to wave a little and curl when left to dry naturally, and so, especially when it’s put in plaits, this little pot of goodness really helps to give my end some TLC and my lengths some spiraled definition. I love a good leave in conditioner, and Hair Custard is great for curly hair or dry ends. It’s taken me a little while to work out exactly how I like to use this product, but using the smallest amount to coat my fingers tips and run through my ends when wet before plaiting is just right for me. It can be also used to smooth fly-aways on dry hair, but I often find I’ll need to wash it at the end of the day in this case.
Who doesn’t love a smelly body wash? Lathering myself in Rose Jam really helps me to feel as though every shower I have is pampering time. Like most of these Lush products, it again seems to last forever and so is definitely worth the ££. The smell of this is to me, again, divine, and I often follow up my Rose Jam shower with a dip in my Rose Yogurt body cream from the Body Shop, just to be that lil bit extra.
