Music Festival Must Haves: How To Stay Glam While Camping
Going to a music festival can sometimes be a little stressful. After all, you want to look your best even if you are camping in a muddy field! But unfortunately, you can’t bring everything and your kitchen sink when you go to one because it’s just not practical. These festival tips will help show you the essential items you need to make sure your festival experience is the best time of your life!
1. Makeup
So as tempting as it is, it’s unlikely that you will be able to take every single makeup product you own with you to a festival. You’ll want to make sure you just bring the essentials and bring them in as small a quantity as possible. Luckily a lot of makeup brands nowadays make smaller, more portable makeup items for people travelling or who have busy schedules and don’t always have time to go home to reapply!
Urban Decay actually have a great deal right now where when you buy two of their products you get three sample, travel-ready products of your choice, for free. We would definitely recommend picking their infamous all nighter setting spray which will help hold your makeup in place no matter how much you’re dancing! You can see why this is number one on our festival tips list.

2. Portable charger
This may seem obvious but it is an item that can easily be forgotten! The last thing you want is to be Snapchatting your favourite singer onstage when your phone suddenly dies. Running out of battery can be a serious problem at a festival especially if you get separated from your friends and need to find them again! Portable chargers can quite literally be life-savers sometimes and it saves you queuing for hours at the charger friendly areas.

3. Water, water, water
So as much as we love enjoying an alcoholic beverage while dancing in the sun to our favourite song, it is important to stay hydrated. And alcohol tends to have the opposite effect. Make sure you stock up on tons of water so you won’t run out while camping. Some festivals also have free taps where you can refill.
We recommend buying a multipack of smaller bottles from your local supermarket because they’re more portable and cost-effective. Apart from anything else, water is just really good for you, not only on the inside but also to help keep your skin glowing!

4. Suntan lotion
As festival tips go, it may seem obvious but so many people still end up burning to a crisp when they’re at a festival. It’s easy to forget to put on especially because a lot of us don’t always feel the sun if it’s not obviously out and blinding us. But harmful UV rays can slip through clouds too so make sure to to stock up on this and lather it on. We recommend Nivea SPF 30 spray as it is easier to apply and less likely to leak or burst.

5. Wet wipes
For your face and some more unmentionable parts of your body, you will want to make sure that you have we wipes at the ready. For spillages, using those horrible porta potties and everything in between. It can be hard to maintain hygiene at a festival so these will be essential. Out of all the festival tips, this one is most certainly a must. No harm here in taking an extra pack with you. You never know when they’ll come in handy. We recommend Andrex washlets!

6. Take a cosy sleeping bag and extra blankets
It can get super cold in the evening, especially when there’s only a thin layer of tent keeping you back from the dirty ground. So make sure your sleeping bag is well insulated and will protect you from the cold all through the night. A couple of extra blankets will also come in handy in case it gets really freezing!

7. Wellies
Don’t risk it by not taking wellies with you. You will regret it! No matter how sunny a festival starts off, all it takes is a little rain to destroy the ground and turn the field into a mud bath. Make sure to take a good, sturdy pair of wellies with you so you can face the mud fearlessly! And wellie boots don’t need to be unattractive. You can get these really cute ones from Cotswold for a feminine style!

8. Personal items
Snacks and money are a good example of these. Obviously, you won’t be taking all your personal items out of the tent with you to the campsite so it’s a good idea to take a little extra money with you so that if god forbid, someone robbed your tent, you still have some cash on you for emergencies. In terms of snacks, you should try little bags of fruit or protein bars as these will in easily into your bag or pockets!
