10 Monster Shake Recipes For A Monster Sweet Tooth

The monster shake is the food craze that shook the Instagram-foodie world. A milkshake too precarious to eat, while looking as delicious on the outside as it is on the inside, will always bring the boys to the yard. If you want to create your own at home to ensure the taste and wow factors, then here are ten monster shake recipes that are sure to look great with any filter.

1. Oreo

The staple sweet-treat that is incorporated into nearly everything- ice-cream, cheesecake, and even deep-fried Oreos are starting to pop-up on the menus of Scottish fish and chip shops. If you want to create your own delicious Oreo monster shake, Sequins In The South has got the recipe for you.

2. Peanut Butter

Peanut Butter can be paired with jam, chocolate, or even salted caramel. Such a combo could put your monster shake over the top, or opt for classic PB taste instead. For a chocolate and peanut butter infusion, follow Pint Sized Bakers’s recipe. Decorate your shake with peanut brittle, peanut butter cups, reeces pieces, or whatever peanut butter candy you can get your hands on to bring this creation to life.

3. Unicorn

Unicorns are the trend that won’t go away, whether it’s glittery unicorn slime, or giant inflatable pool toys. Render the mythical creature in monster shake form using the recipe from Sugar Hero. It’s perfect for parties, or if you just want a little magic me-time.

4. Birthday Cake

I mean, blowing out the candles on a physical cake has gotten pretty old. Instead, divide the cake slices between milkshake glasses using SBS’s recipe, and blow out the candles on a cluster of monster shakes. Make sure you pile the shakes high with funfetti to look extra festive.

5. Smores

Smores are delicious, but oh-so-messy. A monster shake may only be slightly neater to eat, but they are just as tasty. Fill them with chocolate sauce and melting marshmallows according to Gemma’s Bigger Bolder Baking’s recipe, and serve with plenty of ghost stories and fire-side banter.

6. Chocolate Brownie

Potentially the world’s greatest dessert, potentially the greatest monster shake of them all? Hot chocolate is quaking because these shakes are new choice beverage for chocolate lovers. It’s creamy, cakey, and perfect for indulging in if you’ve had a bad day. Try SBS’s recipe.

7. Nutella Pretzel

The three-way food combo no-one knew they needed: part Nutella, part pretzel, part thick shake. If you’re nutty for chocolate spread, but love the salty crunch of pretzels, why not combine the two in a truly beautiful, decadent drink, courtesy of Geeky Hostess. Others may be agog at this monstrous amalgamation of snacks, but they shouldn’t knock it till they’ve tried it.

Donut get me started on this monster shake. Donuts aren’t just the perfect accompaniment for coffee anymore. You can instead stack your favourite pastry on top of your favourite drink with SBS’s recipe. Whether they’re cinnamon dusted, iced, jam-filled, or with a creamy centre of Nutella, donuts are an easy way to give your milkshake more ‘wow’ factor.

9. Salted Caramel Popcorn

If these other food combos have got you feeling salty, this may be the monster shake for you. Salted caramel popcorn is the obvious progression from standard caramel covered popcorn if you want your shakes to be as on trend as possible. Also, popcorn has a quintessential carnival vibe, so be sure to serve them with red and white striped straws for that circus-tent feel. Try Honest Cooking‘s alcohol infused variation.

10. Strawberry Cheesecake

Strawberry cheesecake by itself is a yummy and artisanal dessert, but it could be upgraded further. Follow the recipe by Inside BruCrew Life to make a monster shake fit for a high-tea with the Queen of England. Make sure to use the freshest strawberries available.
