Makeup Revolution is often scrutinized for their fairly blatant dupes of popular higher priced makeup brands, such as the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes and Kat Von D’s Shade and Light palette, to name just two. However, whatever your position on the obvious ‘inspiration’ gained from other brands, Makeup Revolution does offer some great affordable products, some of which are also more unique to them. Personally, I’m a fan, not because they offer dupes of products, but because they are a good quality drugstore option, that is also cruelty free. Either way these are 20 Makeup Revolution products that I think everyone should own.
I have to admit that I am usually weary about cream highlighters just because I find powder ones so much easier to use. However, there is something about cream highlighters that just delivers such a nice highlight. Considering this one is only £4.00, it’s definitely a must-own item in any of the three shades available at TamBeauty.com. Though at that price you might as well buy all three!
So this is definitely the palette for you if you are feeling pretty in pink. I tend to go naturally pink on the cheeks anyway, so I figure I might as well make it a shimmery pink. This palette is stunning and at only £6.00, like all Makeup Revolution products, it’s a steal and something I need in my life.
If you’re just getting into makeup, you definitely need an eyeshadow palette with lots of colours to experiment with. If you have blue eyes like me, you can definitely make those oranges pop and the gold tones will work wonders for both brown and green eyes; as will all of the other beautiful shades in the palette. Also, if you like the Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance palette you will fall in love with this palette, as they have many similar shades.
Contour can be a lot of trial and error, so having a contour set to practice with is a must. This one from Makeup Revolution is a YouTuber favourite and comes in a variety of different shades for different skin tones. At the moment you can buy this palette in fair, light medium and medium dark. At £8, this is a product every makeup addict should own.
Want a highlighter and a bronzer all in one? Then, these are the products for you! Plus, they happen to look SO damn gorgeous. I’d recommend radiant for cooler skin tones and rose gold for warmer skin tones. The best thing though is that they are both only £3.00!
Never forget about the brows if you really want your makeup look to pop (not that I ever actually follow my own advice). However, this brow pomade from Makeup Revolution is a totally affordable option, with quite a large variety of shades to suit every brow shade. There’s also an option including an eyebrow brush for an extra £1.00, making the product still only £6.00 altogether! I don’t know about you, but this is one Makeup Revolution product I definitely need to own.
The packaging of these lipsticks is worth buying in itself. Just think about how pretty they would look on your dresser. The shade ‘Chaffeur’ I think is particularly stunning and a great everyday ‘nude’ lipstick. These lipsticks are only £3.00, with 5 shades to choose from varying from nude shades to darker more ‘vampy’ shades; you’ll be spoilt for choice.
For all you purple lovers out there, this is the palette for you. And if you’re not a purple eyeshadow lover yet, you better change that, as purple looks great with every eye colour. Also, if bright purples aren’t your thing, there are some muted purple shades that are just as stunning, making this palette a must have. At £15.00, it’s on the pricier side for Makeup Revolution, but still an absolute steal.
If you’re one of those people who just can’t have enough of the mermaid trend, then this Mermaids Forever eye palette is for you. For one thing, it definitely has Ariel from The Little Mermaid colour scheme vibes. I also have a smaller version of this palette from Makeup Revolution that has similar colours, and the pigmentation is definitely there. This is a must-have if you are not one to shy away with your eyeshadows.
If you’re not so much into the mermaid trend and looking for more of a neutrals palette than this is probably the palette for you. It’s also only £15.00, so not only is it a great palette for ‘everyday’ neutral makeup looks, it’s affordable too, despite being one of the priciest Makeup Revolution palettes.
I’m not going to lie, colour correcting is a bit above my pay grade. However, I’ve seen the technique used expertly by a lot of beauty YouTubers and Instagrammers. The pink is for brightening; lavender to neutralize yellow tones; green to neutralize redness; orange to neutralize blue tones; peach to help balance out slight discolouration; white to add natural highlight and brighten; cream to neutralize purple and cover dark areas; and the brown balances ashiness in medium to dark skin tones. This is definitely something I want to try with my makeup and at only £6.00, it is something that everyone should own.
Okay, so it’s pretty obvious where this product is taking its inspiration from. However, matte liquid lipsticks are nothing new, though they have exploded in popularity in recent years. At only £6.00, these are a good product to try out if you are new to liquid lipstick and want to experiment with colour selection. The shades available are called Echelon, Grandee, Noble, Reign, Royal, Regal, Glory, and Magnificent; and each one is a product everyone should own.
This highlighter palette is just so gorgeous. Like, ‘I need to own it myself’ gorgeous. The highlighters look like they are very warm toned, so if you have warm toned skin then these will be right up your alley. At £8.00 for the palette in total, these highlighters are a bit under £3.00 each; this is highlighting gold.
While these are able to be purchased individually as well, I just had to post the entire collection. Considering that you can pay £30.00 for one makeup brush, and you get 5 (arguably 10 as the bottom half of the brush is different) in this collection is amazing. I’m also very intrigued by the flex brush design and how that would work when applying makeup. A product everyone must have, even if it’s just to try!
For those of you looking for a combination palette of eyeshadows and highlighters, this is for you. That white highlighter looks like it would be amazing, and that midnight blue eyeshadow just looks so stunning. I mean for only £6.00 where can you go wrong really?
Before you get confused, Makeup Revolution is owned by the same company who produces ‘I Heart Makeup’ and the products are often grouped together, so I thought it’d be okay to include this highlighter. I have swatched these in store and I can tell you now that they are absolutely beautiful. They come in 3 shades: Golden Goddess, Goddess of Love and Goddess of Faith, and all 3 are £4.99 each. Truly these are something every highlighter fanatic should own.
Only about half of the shades in this palette will probably work for me, but I want it either way. Golden sugar is just such an appropriate name for this palette, especially when looking at the gold shade within it. Also, any product that allows you to blush, bronze and highlight in one palette for £6.00 is something that you just have to own.
If you loved the mermaid palette I talked about earlier but only wanted the brightest shades in the palette, then this is the one for you. From personal experience, I can tell you that this palette is not shy with the pigment and at £4.00, you might as well buy it and experiment!
This product claims to set your foundation, reduce shine while correcting redness and pink undertones. If it does what it claims to, you can definitely sign me up. It’s especially perfect for when the weather is hot and you don’t want everything to just melt off your face. At £5.00, you’re going to want to at least give it a try.
Speaking of keeping your makeup in place, there is nothing like fixing spray. As an added bonus, you get to pretend you’re a beauty YouTuber and be fabulous when you’re doing it. For £5.00, this spray claims to be able to keep your makeup perfect for 5 hours, and I bet you can’t help but be tempted to put it to the test.
