8 Makeup Looks You Can Wear At The Beach This Summer
There are loads of makeup looks you can rock this summer, and if you’re the sort of girl who wants to avoid anything too heavy when you’re at the beach, there are still ways of getting that summer glow. Here are some techniques you might want to try out!
1. Summer Glow
A very simple way of achieving a summer glow is by keeping your skin moisturised and applying what you’d wear on a typical day. You don’t necessarily have to spice up your usual makeup routine just because you’re going to the beach – if you’re comfortable with it, go all out! If you do decide to do this, I’d recommend applying a good primer first so that your look will stay in tact for longer.
2. Summer Pastels
That said, you might not want to wear darker colours such as black and dark brown – they’re definitely colours more suited to the winter season. Instead, opt for pastel colours such as light pinks and purples. They’re sure to make your eyes pop when the sun’s shining!
3. Coral
Coral, in particular, is known for being a summery colour, be it whether you want a coral lipstick, blush or even highlighter. It’s a beautiful makeup look if you don’t tan easily and are looking to give your skin a splash of colour.
4. Matte Bronzer
Another way to give your skin some warmth is by using a matte bronzer. Not only will it make your cheekbones look on point, but your glow will be flawless – just make sure you use it sparingly so that you don’t look on the orange side.
5. Sweat Proof
As much as we want the sun to be out, it can cause problems when it comes to making our skin look oily or greasy. The sun can be extremely hot, especially at the peak time of day, so don’t be fooled into thinking that the fact you’re just sitting sunbathing means you won’t break out into a sweat – you will. A solution to this might be wearing a sweat-proof foundation, so you don’t have to worry about your makeup sliding off your face within the first few hours of your arriving.
6. Waterproof
As well as sweat-proof foundation, you might want to apply waterproof mascara so that you can go for a dip in the sea without emerging looking like a panda. There are loads of great waterproof products on the market at the moment, and they’re certainly worth splashing out on so that you’re prepared for all weather conditions. You’re guaranteed to have flawless skin for the whole day!
7. Sunscreen
This isn’t really part of the makeup looks, but it is essential. Don’t believe the myth that wearing makeup is enough to stop you from burning – if your makeup doesn’t contain SPF, it’s very likely that you’ll still catch the sun anyway. Put it on before you apply your makeup and give it some time to sink into your skin, then make sure to reapply when you can throughout the day.
8. Au Naturel
Of course, you don’t have to wear makeup when you go to the beach. It’s a great feeling soaking in the sun’s rays, and it actually can do wonders for your skin giving it a bit of a breather and some Vitamin D. Let’s be honest, many people are going to be in the same boat, so why not ditch the makeup and go as yourself instead? You know what they say: confidence is everything.
