Makeup techniques takes lots of practice to perfect and finding the right methods for you is the key to having flawless makeup that accentuate your look. When your makeup is done right, it will give you that boost of confidence, although we can’t have a makeup artist coming to our door every single time we need to go out, but, we have found some helpful makeup hacks that will definitely make our lives easier. These make up hacks your makeup journey doesn’t have to a messy one!
Lighting is the most important aspect when you are applying makeup, and if you are going out during the day then checking your makeup under natural light will allow you to pick up any uneven foundations or eyeshadow dusts on your face. Also, under the bright natural light you will see spots that you may have missed.
Having full and luscious lashes are a girl’s dream, and we do prioritise that over anything. This lash hack will definitely get you there, for a fuller look you should sweet your mascara towards your nose instead of upwards, this way your lashes will be in a zig-zag shape that creates a fuller look and enlarge your eyes too!
Don’t throw your foundation or liquid makeup just because it seems like the bottles aren’t giving out as much product. If it’s in a tube you can simply cut them open and scoop out the products into a clear container so every bit is well used and none goes to waste, for bottled products you can put it upside-down in a small clear container so the product drips out or you can scoop out the remaining product. With this hack, we assure you that there won’t be any unnecessary wastage.
Always remember to exfoliate and moisturise your lips before you apply any lipstick on so the creases of your lip won’t catch all the products and make it look uneven and wrinkly. Once you apply a coat of your lipstick, layer a piece of tissue over your lips and dust translucent setting powder over your lip area, this way your lipstick will stay on longer.
Sometimes we wonder why can’t our eyeshadow look as good as the advertisements or youtube beauty gurus, well, the trick is white eyeliner! Our skin colours vary and sometimes it takes away the true colour of our eye shadows when applied, so by prepping your eyelids with a layer of white eyeliner it creates a better canvas for your eyeshadows to work on and having the white based will help to intensify the colour.
To get that winged effect everyone loves so much, you can use any object, either a spoon, pencil or corner of a small eyeshadow palette, and hold it in position to where you want your eyeliner wing to be. Start your eyeliner as you would for a cat eye look, press the object against your eyelid, and move your eyeliner alongside the lines for an effortless cat-eye look.
If you are looking for a more smokey eye look and create a darker and strong eyeliner. A simple hack by running your eyeliner pencil through the flame for just a few seconds will give you a strong, intense line and you can smudge it for a more grudge and raw look.
A well-placed piece of clear tape makes an excellent eyeliner stencil if you’re trying to achieve the winged eyeliner look and it will catch any fallen eye shadow so you won’t have that dusty look after applying your eye makeup. Remove the tape carefully and you are all good to go!
