8 London Markets Totally Worth Checking Out

London is well-known for its wealth of incredibly unique and quirky markets. Whether you’re into vintage clothing or good food, you’ll definitely be able to find a market to suit your interests. We have put together a list of 8 London markets that are definitely worth checking out as soon as you have the time. So sit back and relax while we walk you through some of the most exciting places hidden throughout London.

1. Camden Market

Address: Camden Lock Place, NW1 8AF

Definitely one of the most iconic spots in London, Camden Market is an incredible place that offers so many unique items for you to buy. Ranging from Gothic clothing to delicious street food stalls, this market is definitely worth a fair few hours of your time. Not only is it really big, but it’s also full of different shops selling quirky, antique, and vintage things. It’s open every single day from 10am until late, so make sure to head over to Camden, even if you’ve already been.

2. Borough Market

Address: 8 Southwark Street, SE1 1TL

Now this is a foodie’s paradise! It’s safe to say that Borough Market is the best food market in London and definitely one of the top ones in the UK. They sell an incredible variety of fresh produce (including vegetables, fish, and meats) as well as lots of gourmet foods. You get anything from freshly baked bread to mushroom pates and truffle mustard. What’s more, most of the stalls offer lunches, so you can try out their delicious food on the go. This is definitely one of the most exciting London Markets!

3. Covent Garden Market

Address: Covent Garden, WC2E 8BE

Occupying the iconic Market Building and the neighbouring Piazzas, Covent Garden Market is one of London’s top tourist destinations (and for good reason). You can enjoy a lovely meal or some coffee and cake at one of their incredible restaurants, or simply wander around their stalls and shops. If you’re looking for a unique gift idea, then this is definitely the place to go – they have lots of interesting vendors that will never cease to amaze you with their creations.

4. Jubilee Market

Address: 1 Tavistock Court, WC2E 8BD

Located right next door to Covent Garden, this amazing market is full of beautiful handmade items and unique antiques. Focusing more on small businesses as opposed to large-scale retailers, Jubilee Market offers a wealth of exciting stalls for your to explore. My personal favourite is the birthday cards one – they make incredible 3D foldout cards that I have never seen anywhere else. It’s definitely worth a visit!

5. Southbank Centre Market

Address: Belvedere Road, Lambeth, SE1 8XX

Another great place to go to if you’re into good food. With their rotating group of street food vendors, you’ll always have something new to try. Commended for its commitment to sustainable food and drink, this market is the place to be if you’re after a delicious lunch, snack, or dinner. It’s open Friday through Sunday, so make sure to dedicate one of those days to exploring the fantastic food that Southbank Centre Market has to offer.

6. Columbia Road Flower Market

Address: Columbia Road, E2 7RG

Somewhat different to your usual food and clothing markets, the one on Columbia Road is a spectacle of beautiful and fragrant flowers. They have everything from bulbs to trees and freshly-cut flowers. The surrounding shops also sell lots of different gardening accessories, so if you or someone you know is into gardens, then be sure to visit this place. If anything, it’s worth your time just because of the wonderful colours and scents that surround this market.

7. Alfies Antique Market

Address: 13-25 Church Street, Marylebone, NW8 8DT

Just as the name suggests, this market is dedicated to antique and vintage items. In fact, it is the largest indoor antiques market in the whole of London. They have everything from 1930s clothing to design items and rare collectibles. If you get hungry along the way, don’t forget to check out the rooftop restaurants that offer delicious food and beautiful views of London. The priceless antiques here make this one of the coolest London Markets!

8. Old Spitalfields Market

Address: 16 Horner Square, E1 6EW

Another incredible indoor market that sells absolutely everything! They have dedicated Thursdays to antiques and Fridays to clothes and art, whereas Saturdays and Sundays have a bit of all of the good stuff. The beautiful aesthetic of the stalls and the incredible atmosphere make up the magic of the Old Spitalfields Market. If you’re into interesting clothes, then make sure you check out their boutiques and designer stores. Don’t forget to try some of the gourmet food as well, whilst you’re at it.
