Locations That Are So Idyllic You’d Swear You’re In A Dream

There are so many beautiful places in the world, but these dreamy locations are next-level idyllic. From Machu Picchu to the Indian Valley of Flowers National resort, if you want magic, these are the places you need to visit!

1. Machu Picchu

The famous ancient Incan fortress will be forever popular due to the stunning views provided by its picture-perfect location high in the Peruvian Andes and fascinating architecture the source of which is still mysteriously uncertain.

2. Old Bagan, Myanmar

The location of this world heritage site is in central Burma, the city of Bagan dating back to the 9th century. The capital of the Pagan Kingdom that would later be Myanmar flourished until the 13th century, holding thousands of archaeologically astounding temples.

3. Mount Shuksan, North Cascades National Park

A 500,000+ acre forest park in the state of Washington, The North Cascades National Park is home to the sublime Mount Shuksan, which towers above the clear waters and flower-carpeted fields below.

4. Yosemite National Park

Cradled high in the Sierra Nevada mountains, California, the Yosemite National Park provides stunning views of a landscape characterised by dramatic cliffs and peaks, lakes, rivers and waterfalls.

5. Valley of Flowers National Park, Uttarakhand, India

The location of this truly magical National Park is North Chamoli, India. Its rainbow fields of flora and fauna set against the backdrop of the wonderful Himalayan Mountains.

6. Quinta De Regaleira, Sintra, Portugal

An estate near Sintra, the gardens of this palace include lakes, a chapel, and best of all, this amazing,   hypnotic, slightly spooky well, which looks like it could 100% be a gateway to Stranger Things’ “Upside Down.”

7. Little Venice, Colmar, France

“La Petite Venise” is a charming quarter of the city of Colmar in France, its bridged-canals mimicking Italy’s famous city, but the colourful beamed houses giving it a distinctly fairytalesque edge.

8.  Lichtenstein Castle, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

This castle in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is a 19th-century structure characterised by its Neo-Gothic style and the suspended bridge which provides access to its rocky foundations.

9. Ta Prohm Temple, Cambodia

This 12th-13th century Cambodian Temple was originally a Buddhist Monastery and University, the now-ruins almost completely preserved, but for where the trees and jungle vegetation have half inhabited the walls.

10. Hallerbos Forest: Halle, Belgium

This forest in Halle, Belgium, is truly magical. The ground beneath the tall, slim trunks is carpeted in vibrant bluebells, which is simply stunning.

11. Villa d’Este, Tivoli, Italy

This house and garden, located near Rome, boasts a fantastic series of fountains and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

12. Lake Reschen: South Tyrol, Italy

This lake is the product of a mid-20th-century dam construction plan, which merged two natural existing lakes to form a larger, artificially formed one by flooding a number of villages. Not only is the surrounding scenery mirrored in the lake’s surface beautiful, but the bell tower can also still be seen rising above the surface with eerie majesty.

13. Tunnel of Love: Klevan, Ukraine

This misty tree structure is a walking path which frames an old railway, giving us seriously nostalgic Railway Children vibes.

This castle in the sky was historically the ancestral seat of the Hohenzollern dynasty. The mist surrounding it making it appear almost an illusion.

15. Rakotzbrücke (Rakotz Bridge): Kromlau, Germany

The reflection of this gorgeously arched bridge in the water below it gives it a magical, parallel-universe look, that really is enchanting.

16. Tulip Fields, Holland

The sunset colour stripes of the tulips beneath the windmills of Holland are so eye-catching. They even inspired Van Gogh’s famous painting “Bulb Fields.”

17. Burgruine Wartenfels, Salzburg, Austria

Though the route to these ruins is steep, the view of Lake Fuschl below is well worth it. The panoramic views of the lake and mountain scenes of the Salzburg countryside are truly captivating.
