Sister James Charles is one of the youngest make up YouTuber who has blown up the internet in such little time. James Charles brought something more exciting to the internet, rather than just the ordinary smokey eye look he used make up as an art and used it to do insane looks. At only 19, he already earns thousands of pounds for just posting an Instagram picture! Here are a few glam make up looks and a few of the crazier ones you can copy and a few products he uses. (Btw for most of these looks you’ll need the Morphe 35b which is an eye shadow palette full of different colours and definitely worth the buy if you’re looking to develop your make up skills, the link will be below.)
This is a look you can try which isn’t as hard as it looks, the most important thing is the amount of blending you have to do but other than that it’s a piece of cake. This is a cut crease look which is perfect to try if you’re a beginner or just want a quick glam look which looks like you put loads of time into (when I say quick I mean an hour because that is a quick make up look).
For this look he used the Morphe 35O eye shadow palette which is a beautiful warm toned palette with brown and reds. He also used the Mary Lou Manizer by The balm which is a light gold highlighter which looks so good on any skin tone.
James did this for his Thanksgiving party but this is perfect for any occasion where you want to wow people with your make up skills. This is a harder look to copy than the first one but don’t worry because James Charles has you covered with a detailed make up tutorial called “Holiday slay make up tutorial” on his YouTube channel.
Two products he uses in this look is the Morphe 39A which is a diverse make up palette with matte and shimmer shades, he also uses the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in the shade Sepia.
This is a look which focuses more on getting perfect skin with make up because your base has to look as good as everything else. This look is definitely for beginners or anyone who can’t seem to get their base right, James goes into detail on how to look as flawless as him in the YouTube video “How to get perfect skin with make up”.
He talks about how his foundation on his nose doesn’t last so he uses the Iconic London contouring palette and with the concealer he puts a layer of this onto his nose before foundation. He also uses the Laura Mercia translucent powder to set his foundation in place and to make sure it doesn’t wear away throughout the day.
This is a beautiful look which is perfect for autumn with all the warm tones, reds and purples, this would be great to wear for a day out and is super easy to copy. If you want a more detailed tutorial then go head to this sister’s YouTube channel where you can find the video “Fall first impressions make up tutorial”. For this look James has used the Anastasia Beverly Hills blush kit and the Laura Lee cat’s pajamas eye shadow palette.
I know this looks crazy hard but do not fear because James has done a whole video explaining this make up look in full detail so grab a piece of paper and pen to jot down the basics of a half cut crease worth copying.
This look is also so beautiful with the oranges and hint of purple giving us summer vibes, if you want to check this out then go to his channel and click on the “Brows, eyeshadow, wing liner & lashes for beginners” for the full shabang. In this video he uses the Morphe 433 which is an eye shadow brush perfect for blending especially in the crease, he also uses the Marc Jacobs felt tip liner for a wing sharp enough to cut a b****.
Now brace yourself for the complicated but beautiful and insane looks you can copy by our favorite sister.
This is a rainbow make up look James did to celebrate pride, this is definitely worth trying out. James goes into detail on how he created this amazing look in the video “Rainbow cut crease pride make up tutorial”.
He uses the holy grail palette Morphe 35b which you need if you’re going to do crazy looks like James because it’s only £23 and is definitely value for money. He also uses the infamous Kat Von D Tattoo liner to do his heavenly wing.
James did this amazing God Is A Woman inspired look which honestly may be one of the best looks he has done and might just be one of the easiest crazy looks, Ariana Grande would be proud. I think this in particular shows how he can take a look and recreate it but in his own image, you can totally do the same.
For this look he used the Jefferee Star liquid lipstick in the shade self control for his purple liner and lower lash line, he also used the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in the shade violet for his lips and the face paint.
This may be one of my favourite looks because it’s so creative and James has paid so much attention to detail in this right down to the hint of blue highlighter on his cupids bow. This is for people who like a challenge and want to put their make up skills to the ultimate test because you have to get all the light dark and highlighted areas just right to make this rock.
But don’t worry if you want to do it but are scared to because James has a whole video on this look called “Drama in the beauty community”. Two products you need to copy this are the Morphe 35b and the NYX professional make up white liquid liner which is another must if you want to do more creative looks and it’s only £7!
This may be one of his most famous looks and you can see why, this is an amazing and very creative look you can totally copy. Although he doesn’t have an in detail video he did do one where he reviewed 2017 so you can watch that for a quick inspiration but this is pretty straightforward for a look which looks amazing.
For this look he used the Too Faced Born This Way foundation and the Make Up Forever flash palette.
James recreated one of his sisters looks and it looks stunning, not sure you can pop into town with this on your face but it’s definitely worth the try. This look is hella snatched with the transition from blue to orange and the white liner has been used to draw a crescent moon and stars.
Two pigments James used for these look are absolutely stunning and they are the Inglot pigment in 112 which is a blue/purple and the Tarte chrome in top yacht which is a beautiful gold you can also use as a highlight.
This floral eye look is also an inspiration from one of James’ sisters and totally wearable in public (well maybe not the supermarket). This is a test of patience and precision, you might not get it on the first go but practice makes perfect so don’t worry it’ll look good in the end.
For this James Charles used the Jaclyn Hill palette and the NYX vivid brights liner in yellow, the vivid brights liner collection is a great collection to keep in your make up bag if you want to develop your creative make up skills.
I saved the best till last, this may be one of the most trickiest make up looks by James Charles that you can copy but it’s worth doing. This will take a lot of time and your make up skills will be put to the test, especially with all the colours and knowing what to put where.
Even though there isn’t a tutorial for this look by James on YouTube but there is a style swap in which Nikkie Tutorials did this look called “style swap feat. Nikkie tutorials”. For this look James used the Jefferee Star liquid lipstick in weirdo which is apparently the best black liquid lipstick ever and the Anastasia Beverly Hill Aroura glow kit. This is one of our favourite James Charles looks.
