10 Reasons Inter-railing Is The Best Way To Travel

When people think of travelling, they immediately think of backpacking through Asia or Australia. But inter-railing can be one of the best ways to travel. It’s different, it’s fun, it’s an adventure and all without leaving the ground. So here are 10 reasons inter-railing is the best way to travel.

1) The scenery is amazing.

When flying you might see some nice clouds or a sunset but you won’t get to experience the amazing scenic routes that inter-railing offers to you. You will never pass a mountain or a lake and that’s one of the best reasons to go inter-railing.

2) It’s cheaper than flying.

Sometimes flying can be very expensive and we ain’t got time for that. Travelling by train can be so much cheaper and who doesn’t love having an adventure without breaking the bank?

3) It’s way more flexible.

Say you arrive in a city and you love it so much so you stay longer; when you’ve got a flight booked you can’t always change it. With trains, you’ve got the option to pick and choose which train to get on.

4) You get to meet new people.

When you’re travelling on the train, you get to meet fellow travellers who are also discovering new places for the first time and locals so you can experience the culture.

5) Discover what you have on your doorstep.

Inter-railing can help you see some hidden gems Europe has to offer. Places you wouldn’t have thought of visiting. Picnic on the Swiss Alps, row a boat on Lake Bled, or sunbathe in Croatia. You can spend a day or a month and isn’t that a great idea?

6) Experience the overnight train.

One of the best and an interesting experience is the overnight train. It helps maximise your days for exploring. And everyone’s story is different, some hate it, some enjoy it. How would you feel about it?

7) Arrive in the heart of the city.

Most train stations are set right in the centre of the city so immediately when you arrive, you’re right in the action. You get to experience the hustle and bustle and see the beauty in front of you. Much better than arriving at an airport.

8) You can tailor your trip to suit you.

Whether you plan to hit the big cities like Berlin, Paris or Rome or maybe you want to travel the most Instragrammable routes such as Strasbourg in France or Montreux in Switzerland. You design this trip to suit you.

9) There are many ways to explore.

There are different types of travel passes you can buy, each to help you decide how you want to travel. You can hop from country to country exploring major cities or you can explore a country in depth. It’s totally up to you.

10) It’s awesome!

When isn’t travelling of any kind fun? Go with your friends and see whats on your doorstep. You’ll definitely have a blast!
