First dates don’t always have to be extravagant and borderline uncomfortable. If you’re both the type who enjoy being casual and having some fun beyond just the cinema or a dinner at some fancy restaurant, then this article is for you! Now, I’m not saying you should go on a first date wearing matching tracksuits, but having to walk around in 5-inch heels all day isn’t exactly ideal, either. So, here are some tips for what to wear on a casual first date!
Now, depending on the weather, I wouldn’t go with maxi dresses or skirts here as they can be just as uncomfortable as wearing heels! (At least for me, anyway.) So try to stick to dresses that aren’t too long (or too short!) and pair them with pretty much whatever you’re comfortable in; tights, jeggings, leggings etc.
As for shoes, well again, depending on the weather and your own personal style, anything from a pair of flat/mid-heeled ankle or knee-heigh boots to flat dolly shoes or even converse would work perfectly. You’ll feel comfortable but you will also look nicely put-together and feminine. Great choice for a picnic date.

Ain’t no rocket science about this one. A pair of comfortable jeans and a pretty blouse, or a simple top and a blazer (I wouldn’t pair a blouse with a blazer here because that would look too formal and borderline tuxedo-ish). It’s simple, it’s chic and it still makes you look like you’ve put some effort in. Try pairing the lot with a pair of boots, ballet flats/dolly shoes or sandals – again, weather permitting, of course. An outfit like this would be perfect for a nice dinner out.

I had to put this here, though. It’s so perfect for an ice cream out at the park or a touristy date. Again, a classy blouse or an elegant shirt of some sort combined with a pair of denim shorts and some cute sandals – et voila.

Slightly on the formal side, this is great for when you want to look a bit more made up than usual but still maintain that comfortable, casual feel.
High-wasted trousers or jeans paired with some comfortable platforms for extra height work perfectly for a romantic lunch or dinner date.
