Ice cream is definitely a dessert you are going to over indulge this summer. From dairy free to homemade and artisanal ice cream or sorbet, find your happiness by tasting new flavours. Either exotic or traditional, every year new flavours are produced to be tasted on the National Ice Cream day (3rd of July).
Here are the main ice cream flavours in trend this season.
This season, you will love the light and creamy Spring Thyme ice cream by Frankie & Jo’s. Made with cashew milk, the ice cream is 100% plant based. Completed with some oat crumble and infused with some thyme leaves, taste this original Spring flavour.
Homemade ice cream is making a big comeback with the organic food phenomenon. Prepare your own ice cream, and remember the ice cream your grand mother used to prepare when you were a kid. You can modernise the recipe by going lactose free and oozing exotic flavours. Ooze this dates and bananas ice cream : cut 4 bananas, and put them in the freezer for 2 hours. Then, take them out for 10 mins. Cut the dates into thin slices and mix then with the bananas in a blender with 200ml of almond milk. Put the mixture back in the freezer for about 50 mins. Ready!
The famous ice cream brand Haagen Dazs launched its exclusive vegetable ice cream a few years ago in Japan. The flavours are Carrot Orange and Tomato Cherry. You can make the same one at home! And choose your own flavour – such as ginger – and taste originality.
To flavour your ice cream, it is not necessary to buy exclusive fruits, vegetables… You can just mix your favourite vanilla ice cream and eat it with pancakes or in a sandwich with waffles for instance.
Try alcohol-infused ice cream with flavours such as Vanilla Bourbon by Haagen Dazs! You won’t be drunk after eating a couple of scoops, but it is a nice experience to have during summertime. Think of it, instead of ordering the same cocktail. You can also mix some Guinness with vanilla ice cream, apparently, it is absolutely delicious!
Ideal for sportsmen or simply interested amateurs, the high protein ice cream is the latest craze and will make wonders this season. Try the Salted caramel cake by Breyers Delights, and you will swoon: the ice cream contains max. 350 kcals and is high in protein, low in sugar and still extra creamy. Give in to the whole range.
A classic of summer, the exotic fruit ice cream flavours are always a hit. Try mango, passion fruit or coconut, and be sweet and fresh! They will definitely keep you cool.
