Kendall Jenner is one of the most globally recognised models of today, and it’s no wonder; the woman is GORGEOUS! I’m sure we’ve all wondered how she stays in such great shape; what diet does she follow and how can we get her killer abs! I wanted to know the same, and then I took it one step further… what would happen if I followed Kendall Jenner’s diet and exercise routine for one week?
The purpose of this experiment was by no means a way to try and change myself to look like Kendall. We were not born with the same body shape, and I have no desire to want to look like her. She is beautiful, and so are the rest of us! As long as we are healthy and happy, we don’t need to compare ourselves to supermodels who get paid to look the way they do. Okay, with that being said, let’s get on with the experiment!
So here’s a quick rundown of Kendall Jenner’s diet and exercise. I decided to follow the routine she whips out come Fashion Week, which involves a lot more of a strict regime.

Exercise:
Even if it’s just for a week, starting a new diet plan seems motivating to begin with, and then super exhausting. But, I set myself a plan and a goal; I made a trip to the grocery store, bought everything I needed for the week and meal prepped. And while I couldn’t get my hands on detox tea, especially enough to last me twelve cups a day, I settled for green tea.
On day one, I was pretty amped for the experiment to begin. I made myself a breakfast of egg white scramble, turkey and avocado and of course, my first cup of tea for the day. For lunch, I made a tuna salad with spinach, tomato and cucumber, and for dinner, chicken and salad. My workout for that day was a half an hour run plus a short ab workout. I decided that throughout the week, I would try and change up the workouts as much as I could so I would be able to look forward to working out and not dread it! Outside the experiment, I try to workout 2-3 times a week, so I found the workouts to be tough, but do-able. They left me feeling pretty energised, especially the pilates classes, something I had never done before but really enjoyed! However, I will say, my abs (ha!) and butt were quite sore, but in a good way.
As the week progressed, I found that I was able to keep to the regime quite easily and consistently. I meal prepped a lot of the dishes ahead of time before the week began, and by doing that, I made the diet easier to stick with. Kendall eats a variety of meals, as long as they stick with the basic rules, and of course there was the pizza! But I only had pizza once, and even then, I made it myself with gluten and sugar-free dough and lots of veggies on top.
For snacks, I made sure to always have fruit on hand, as well as nuts (almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts were my go-to). I did start to crave chocolate towards the end, but, instead of a bar of Cadbury’s, in all of its refined sugary glory, I bought some chocolate made out of just raw cocoa beans and coconut sugar. It was truly a proud moment for me.
I did have a coffee here and there, but I’m not a huge coffee drinker anyway, so I persisted with the tea. Now. THE TEA. Kendall Jenner drinks TWELVE CUPS of tea A DAY. After about the sixth or seventh cup on the first day, I was finished. Add to that the amount of water I was drinking, which was only about two litres, and let’s just say I was a pretty regular visitor to the bathroom. After that, I knew I wouldn’t be able to drink that much liquid in a day, so I settled for five cups of tea a day plus my water.
Get ready to not be overwhelmed by my results, because there’s not really much to report after only a week of following Kendall Jenner’s diet and exercise. But in saying that, I did feel a little better in my body; a little lighter and stronger, especially in the core region. My skin, while generally being pretty good and clear, appeared a mite brighter, probably from the copious amounts of green tea and leafy greens that I inhaled, which also contributed to my decrease in bloating. I didn’t see much difference in my weight, only having lost about 300g, though while still a result, I wasn’t really in this for the weight loss.
To sum up this experiment, I would say that if you’re not a supermodel like Kendall Jenner and having long legs and tight, toned body isn’t your job, than this diet and exercise plan might not be sustainable for the average person. But, if you’re willing to meal prep, have time to do at least 45-60 minutes of exercise a day and can stomach two pitchers of tea a day, you could make this work. And while I would like to say that I’ll keep this up, I probably won’t! I like not having to worry about how many calories I’m putting into my body and how many I have to burn to be camera-ready. Yes, being healthy is important and I will endeavour to try being more health-conscious. But I’m glad it isn’t my job!
