How To Save Money And Travel More

It’s a popular belief that traveling a lot is a privilege for rich people. Everybody has at least one friend that constantly posts pictures from different places of the globe. The first thing that comes out in our mind is “where can he find the money for traveling so much?”. Simple: he is good to save money. Indeed, you don’t necessarily need to be well-off for discovering the world. The truth is that it’s essential to have a solid saving plan.

Do you want to travel more? Follow these tips of how to save money. The world is waiting for you!

1. Don’t buy useful stuff

Although some expenses are impossible to cut, there are others that we can easily avoid. How many times do we buy things that we don’t actually need? Lots and lots of times. In order to save money for your trips, you should start to reduce unnecessary spending. How to do that? Simple: every time you want to buy something ask to yourself “Do I really need it?”. You will be surprise from the NO that is going to come out in your mind.

Do you actually have the necessity for a new jumper when your wardrobe is crowded from tons of items that you never use? Rediscover forgotten clothes, they could appear like new after years. Do you really need Netflix and Sky? Choose just one of them. When you will be traveling, you won’t watch TV anyway!

2. Eat at home

It’s so impressive thinking of how much money we spend in vain everyday for eating outside. For laziness or because we fancy some tasty food, our travel savings, sadly, remains low. I know, who doesn’t love going to the restaurants? However, cooking at home is the perfect way to save money and considerably cut food expenses. On top of that, it could be funny and rewarding.

Instead of the lunch break in the cafe under your office, bring food cooked at home at work with you. Don’t go to eat sushi for a month, think when you will enjoy your chirashi sat in a sushi-bar in Tokyo!

3. Go to drink in a park instead of a pub

Often, you don’t need going in pubs, bars or clubs for having fun. Indeed, in particular during the warm season, a good way to save money, without reducing the fun, is to meet your friends in a park instead. Buy a box of beers in a shop and enjoy the sunshine outdoor. Good vibes from people who surrounded you are more important than the place where you are!

4. Limit your night out to twice a week

Going out everyday is surely very expensive. Of course, you can’t just do work and home all the week long. However, it’s really a perfect way to save money reducing your nights out to a couple per week. Or, instead of going out, you can invite your friends over your place for a movie night or a nice dinner.

5. Keep your saving separated

A trick that works perfectly for me is keeping my travel funds separated from my other money. Indeed, often we don’t realise how much we spend. For this reason, as soon as you get your wage, put some money by side. I’m used to keep them in an envelope hidden somewhere in my room. Set a plan and follow it. You will be astonished by how much doing this can help!
