As a uni student, tidying up your room can sometimes get away from you. But don’t let all that effort of making your dorm room (or flat) go to waste by covering it in clutter. If you’re in the mood to get organised but still want everything to be aesthetically pleasing, here are some tips on how to organise clutter in a way that looks cute.
Organise clutter and display your makeup for the world to see! If you’re a beauty guru with tons of products, it’d be worth investing in a makeup organiser that will fit all of your items. There are tons of options, from ones that will fit neatly on a shelf or desk, and even ones that spin.
Lots of places will offer dorm decorations that actually double as storage. From cute shelves to wall hooks, it won’t be hard to find something cute that will still help you steer clear of clutter. Top tip: find storage that hooks over the back of your door for an easy way to organise and display your items.
Most of the time, the things that cause the most clutter are actually tiny items. These could be bits of jewellery, spare change or even paper clips. A great way to get around this mess is by investing in trinket bowls that you can place all over your dorm or flat. That way, you won’t just leave small items lying around all over the place.
If you want to organise clutter but still want to see (or even display) everything, then acrylic storage would be a good way to go. This will help you tidy everything up neatly but still showcase all your favourite items.
As students, our desks will be one of the messiest places in our rooms. To keep things neat yet cute, go for a matching set of desk accessories such as pen holders and a filing tray. These will not only store everything neatly away, but will also double as room decor!
Sometimes you just have stuff that is in odd sizes or doesn’t fall into a specific category. This could be random mail, magazines or even throw blankets. For items such as these, it would be good to buy a cute woven or wire basket that you can throw all of your items into. That way, you can keep things tidy yet cute.
If you want to keep your desk clutter-free but still want to keep track of all your notes and books, then a memo stand would be a great addition to your room. Memo stands and magazine files are a great way to hide the mess on your desk while still keeping everything fairly accessible.
But seriously, if you’re running out of room to hide your clutter, under your bed is a good place to start! Keep hat boxes or storage cubes filled with clothes and other items hidden under your bed for a super-organised looking room. Or, invest in pull-out shelves for under your bed to make sure that you never run out of storage space again!
