How To Grow Out A Pixie Cut
Missing your long hair and regret cutting your hair so short? Or maybe you’re just bored of your pixie cut and you’re looking for something new? Whatever the reason, you’re looking to grow out your pixie cut but aren’t sure of what to expect. Not to worry! Here, I will guide you through tips and tricks on how to grow out a pixie cut.
1. Trim your hair regularly
This might seem like a pain in the ass (to both your time AND wallet!), but trimming your hair is a very important step to follow when trying to grow out a pixie cut. Unless you’re looking forward to having a mullet at the back of your neck for the next few months, regular trims are needed to keep your hair looking fashionable and chic throughout the growing out process. It might seem like a hassle and a waste of money right now, but you’ll thank me in the long run!
2. Learn new styling tricks
Nobody wants to have a bad hair day every day while trying to grow out a pixie cut, so learning how to style your hair in its awkward phases is an essential part of growing it out. Braids are a great way to style the longer parts of your pixie cut, without having it look too messy and overwhelming. There are also plentiful tutorial videos on youtube that will teach you different and unique ways to style your pixie cut while it’s growing out. Be sure to read up on new ways to style your hair, so when it starts to get messy you already know what to do!
3. Expand your collection of hair accessories
One thing to keep in mind is the number of hair accessories you have at your disposal. From bobby pins to headbands to anything and everything in between, hair accessories are essential when trying to grow out a pixie cut. They’ll be extremely helpful when trying to style your pixie cut through its awkward stages, so expanding your current collection beforehand is always important. Some great accessories to look out for are bandannas, headbands and cute bobby pins.
4. Prepare some wigs for backup
Worst case scenario, having some wigs on standby is probably a really good idea. Just in case you bump into the day your hair refuses to cooperate with you, you can just plop on a cute wig and a beanie to match and just leave without worrying about your appearance. This might seem like a useless purchase for now, but look on the bright side! Even after your pixie cut has grown out, you can always still plop on your wig for a new look every day.
5. But most of all, be patient
There will be times when your hair is at its worst and your self-esteem is at its lowest, and you feel like your hair will never look good no matter how hard you try. But don’t worry, while it might seem like a long time now, but this awkward phase won’t last forever. Just be patient, and continue to style your awkward lengthed pixie cut however you see fit, and soon you’ll be rocking an amazing bob in no time. Come on, I believe in you!
