I know what it’s like to always want to switch up your bedroom. Bring in some new decor, new furniture, a new theme maybe. But of course giving your room a makeover can be very expensive! New decor and new furniture can cost you upwards of a thousand dollars, easily. That’s why I’ve found some easy ways you can give your bedroom a makeover on a budget! Don’t worry, I didn’t compromise on style.
You may have some cool stuff lying around your house or in your recycling bin waiting to be used, so make use of it! Use old magazine clippings, artsy gift wrap or your precious Polaroid pictures for Instagram-worthy wall art. That chunky knitted blanket that remains on the back of the couch untouched and unloved, hang it up as a wall tapestry or use it as your new throw rug on your bed. Use a plain glass bottle as a vase for some pretty flowers that can go on your desk or windowsill. Take a tea towel, old jumper, tablecloth or any kind of material that you think would make a cute cushion cover and DIY! There are so many ways you can decorate your room for free or for super cheap by making use of what’s already lying around your house. I told you giving your bedroom a makeover on a budget is possible, you just have to get creative!
You’d be surprised at how many things you can find at a thrift store that can completely transform your bedroom! You can find furniture like mirrors, bedside tables, chested drawers and so much more. If the furniture is a little scratched or dirty, don’t worry, because you can clean it up and even spray paint it to make it look more polished and expensive. You can also find little pieces that make for cute decor, like books, plants, dream catchers, etc.
Painting your bedroom is probably one of the easiest and (relatively) cheapest ways to give your bedroom a whole new feel! Painting your room isn’t rocket science, even the most beginner DIYers can paint a bedroom, and you can probably get it done in a weekend. Whether you go for clean and white, bold and bright, neutral and calm or contemporary and dark, there’s a paint colour for everyone! Give your bedroom a makeover on a budget by painting your room. Trust me, a little bit of paint will go a long way and won’t break the bank.
Your bed is the focal point of your bedroom, so you want it to look nice and tie your whole room together. Change up your sheets and go out and get yourself some new bedding! New bedding doesn’t have to be expensive, just steer clear of designer brands and you can find really beautiful bedding that’s pretty inexpensive if you ask me! Stores like Target and Myer are excellent choices for cheap but gorgeous bedding!
An easy way to give your bedroom a makeover on a budget is by giving your room a bit of light! You can hang up some fairy lights all around your room, get a vintage lamp for your desk or add some candles to your bedside tables. Whichever you choose for your bedroom, giving your room some new lighting is an easy way to transform your room for cheap.
