How To Drink More Water Without It Feeling Like A Total Hassel

I don’t have to tell you all the benefits of drinking water — you already know. But sometimes, drinking enough water in a day can feel like a total hassle, especially with a bevy of other drinks to choose from. If you’re determined to get healthier and drink more water, read on for tips on how to drink more water a lot easier.

1. Find a cute water bottle

Invest in a water bottle that you’ll actually use and keep it close to you at all times. If your water bottle is cute, you’ll be more motivated to take it out and show the world how cute it is. Before long, you’ll realise that you’re drinking more water each day!

2. Use an app

A fun way to track your water habits without it feeling like a total hassle is by downloading an app. I personally use an app called Plant Nanny, where you can grow virtual plants based on the amount of water you drink in a day. It’s an easy way to keep track of your drinking, and makes guzzling water all day feel like a game, rather than a chore.

3. Infuse your water with flavours

If part of the reason you don’t like to drink water is because of the way it tastes, why not try infusing your water? Using fresh ingredients like lemons, strawberries, mint or cucumber, you can make it easy to replace your favourite fruity drinks with water. In fact, you can even take it a step further and buy an infuser for your water bottle so you can have flavoured water on the go!

4. Invest in a filter

Make drinking more water less of a hassle by making it easy to drink water anytime, anywhere. One of the biggest things that stops people from drinking enough water is simply not having access to it when they need it. If you don’t want to be constantly buying bottles of water, then invest in a filter for your water bottle so you can easily fill it up from any tap.

5. Drink after every trip to the bathroom!

A great way to drink more water is to use the “water in, water out” method. Every time you get up to go to the toilet, pass by a water dispenser or pick up your water bottle and have a drink afterwards. This way, you’re sure to replenish all the water that your body loses throughout the day.

6. Set a Timer

This might be a little bit annoying, but it actually works: set timers throughout the day is one way how to drink more water. While this might not work in the office, it’s perfect for when you’re sitting at home and get carried away with your procrastination.

7. Spice Up Your Meals

Make your meals extra spicy and you won’t even notice how much more water you’re drinking! Depending on how much heat you can handle, even some mild spices will do, and will definitely make drinking more water throughout the day less of a hassle, as you’ll constantly be sipping on it along with your meals.

8. Eat Your Water

If you really can’t stand the thought of drinking water all day, then why not just eat it? Stock up on water-rich foods such as cucumber, lettuce, celery, watermelon, grapes and strawberries and try to incorporate them into all your meals and snacks. This is a totally hassle-free way to make sure you’re reaching your daily water intake goals.
