We all know that drinking enough water is essential for avoiding dehydration as well as making sure our body works properly and making our skin look and feel better. But still, many of us aren’t drinking enough water. Dehydration is also often mistaken for hunger and can make our bodies feel weak or faint. Now that it’s summer, our bodies lose more water as a result of us sweating more, so it’s important that we’re all drinking enough water every day. While the guidelines do vary, it’s recommended that you’re drinking about 2 litres of fluids a day. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to drink more water. They will help you drink more water so you won’t be dehydrated all the time.
This will not only make you want to refill your water bottle at every change you get, it saves you having to buy a new plastic one every time which means that it’s much better for you and the environment. It might also be a good idea to invest in a water bottle that has a built in filter so you can fill it up wherever you are and don’t have to worry!
Add pieces of fruit and vegetables like pineapple or berries or cucumber and mint for a refreshing twist.
If still water isn’t your thing, try fizzy water once in a while to make drinking water more enjoyable.
This will make remembering to drink enough water easier to remember and also might help you eat less than you would normally – a win/win for anyone that is trying to shed a few pounds.
Since you will most likely always have your phone on you, it might be a good idea to set little alarms or reminders so that you remember to drink water throughout the day. There are also a variety of apps available to download that do the same thing and keep track of how many cups of water you’re drinking throughout the day.
One tip for how to drink more water is to cut fizzy drinks and replace them with water. Every time you’re tempted to buy a diet coke, think of how much water you’ve had that day and see if you can swap it for a glass of water instead.
If you have a bottle handy on your bedside table, it will help to remind yourself to drink more water first thing in the mornings or before you go to sleep. It’s also a lifesaver if you wake up in the middle of the night and find yourself dying of thirst. If you’ve had a few too many, it can help avoid you feeling too dehydrated the morning after.
