I know it can be tricky to stick to a skin routine every day, especially when you’re rushing to lectures! But, it is so important for your skin to have a routine to keep it healthy and flawless. This is how to create a skin care routine and stick to it!
I may sound like a broken record here, but drinking as much water as possible is vital to achieve that glowy skin! Drinking your H20 is just as important as moisturizing, so try a swap vodka white for a tall glass of water! Pop cucumber or lemon into the water to give it some flavour!
When washing your face keep things simple and use products that suit your skin type! For example, my face is as oily as they come. So, I use an acid based cleanser from the La Roche Posay Effaclar range on my T zone. However, due to central heating one can get dry patches around the rim of the face, once again, using a moisturizing face wash on the outer rim of your face can help to prevent dry patches.
Serum’s are usually applied before moisturizer as they actually sink into the skin as opposed to a moisturizer that sits upon your face! This step isn’t necessary, but if you’re really trying to perfect that skin routine give it a go!
This is a must for me, I can’t leave the house without it! To reduce oiliness, I revert back to La Roche Posay Effaclar range. This skincare brand is affordable with Boots promoting 3 for 2 offers every other week! I also use an eye cream because, let’s be real no one wants wrinkles around those eyes!
When choosing the correct face mask for you, take into consideration what type of skin you have. I try to apply a charcoal face mask, or a tea tree face mask twice a week in order to give my skin a bit of a detox, especially after a night out! Glam Glow face masks are fantastic, but the price is a bit steep for what it is. Why not try L’Oreal’s face mask range if you have a student friendly budget!
Embrace your inner gardener and get yourself an Aloe Vera plant! Don’t bother with the bottled stuff. Chop a stem off and apply it to your face! I’m aware that the texture is far from appealing, however it instantly calms any angry spots or redness.
If you are exfoliating your face, go au natural and use Epsom salts. Why not try mixing the salts with coconut oil or simply just some warm water? Use it on elbows and knees with an exfoliating glove for extra smooth skin! I exfoliate my face once a week at the maximum in order to diminish clogged pores!
