How To Avoid Laziness At Uni

At University, it can be super easy to fall behind and let laziness take over. If you don’t want to fall into this trap, as I am sure we all do at some point, try out some of these tips and tricks to keep on track with your work, to the best of your ability. You will be super organised in no time!

Organising Days

The first step to staying on top of your work is to delegate each day of the week to a specific class, topic or task. If you know what you are doing tomorrow, then you will be able to stay focused on that particular topic or class each day. You will also be more inclined to complete all of your work for each of these topics if you know that this is the one day you have to do it.

Organise your days and your head will feel less overwhelmed. You will fall into your routine in no time. This is the first step but the most important. Get yourself a wall calendar and write down what each day will be dedicated to. You will never waste any hours of the day again.

Lists

Create lists of what you have to do. If you are like me and you like to get everything out of your brain and put it down in front of you, this is a perfect idea. You will find that you are more productive if you write yourself a list every morning about what you have to do for the day, and cross it off as you do it. As you cross off the things you have to do, you will see your day slowly freeing up.

Get through your list and you will be feeling on top of the world. I find that writing down my list on a post-it note and keep it on my laptop, gives me the best results, as I am always seeing it throughout my day. One by one you will cross off the things you have to do. You will have avoided the laziness and made the most of your day!

Rewards

If you feel like you need something to make your efforts worth it, treat yourself! Buy yourself a treat like some chocolates and tell yourself you are not able to eat one until you finish a paper or some research. Or every time you cross something off your list, treat yourself to something tasty.

If you want to really reward yourself, make a list to get done for the whole week, if you do everything on your list, then go get your nails done on the weekend. Make your efforts worth it! This is a great way to avoid laziness at uni. laziness can be tempting, don’t give into it.

Look Forward To Something

If you are feeling the stress and pressure of uni and feel like giving in to the laziness is the best option, don’t do it! Look forward to something that you have coming up after your assignments are due or after a big exam. It can be as small as a lunch with friends that are coming up or even a trip that is coming up later.

Look forward to something that is not related to the stresses in your life. This is the best way to see the light at the end of a tunnel.

How do you avoid laziness? Let us know what helps you to stay on top of all of your work! We would love to hear from you!
