Autumn is still a long way off, but that doesn’t mean the music industry isn’t readying itself for upcoming album releases. Currently, not too many artists are announcing upcoming album releases for the fall as they are still wanting to sell that summer banger. But here at Society 19 we like to look to the future and think about what you’ll be listening to as you unpack your Sainsbury’s basics toaster in your new smelly student house.

Troye Sivan – Bloom (31st August, 2018)

Set to be released on the 31st August, Troye Sivan’s second studio album has gained a lot of press with critics questioning the underlying themes and motives of the album. Despite this, many are still very excited to see what the young talent has in store with his poppy, introspective lyrics and bassy sounds that will grab attention and be played for days.

Lenny Kravitz – Raise Vibration (September 7th, 2018)

Raise Vibrations is Kravitz’s 11th album, presumed to be released on Kravitz’s own label Roxie Records. Not much is known about this release yet, but it’s causing a stir of excitement to see what bluesy, R&B jazz this famed performed will create. This is one of the upcoming album releases that is also being paired with a world tour set for late 2018, early 2019; it would be madness to miss this star in action.

Carrie Underwood – Cry Pretty (September 14th, 2018)

This new release is the first album released with Underwood’s newly signed record label: Capitol Records Nashville. This album is her sixth and is expected to do better than the rest, after her release of the duet single ‘The Champion’ earlier this year. This single, featuring Ludacris, went straight to number 1 on iTunes and was Underwood’s first attempt in the pop genre. The release of this single, means there is some questioning as to whether Underwood is branching out more into the pop genre or sticking to her country roots.

Good Charlotte – Generation Rx (September 14th, 2018)

After a four-year hiatus, Good Charlotte came back ad conquered. They released their last album in 2015, supported All Time Low on tour, and are now set to release their 7th studio album. For Good Charlotte, there is no question of the genre, as they  will continue to share their pop-punk sounds, as was clear from their single release, ‘Actual Pain’, earlier this year.

The 1975 – A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships (October 2018)

One of the most awaited upcoming album releases is the 1975’s A brief Inquiry into online relationships. After a long wait, and lots of PR trips and advertising ideas, the 1975 are finally allowing the public into the release date of their new album. This album is being released in, what the band is calling, the ‘Music For Cars’ era of music. With dates being pushed back, and singles being released, their album is hotly anticipated and will surely make a splash when it is out.

BROCKHAMPTON – The Best Years Of Our Lives (TBA)

Calling themselves a boyband, BROCKHAMPTON met and formed through a Kanye West forum now called KanyeToThe. Their first major release was their free mixtape ‘All-American Trash’ in 2016.  ‘The Best Years Of Our Lives’ is set to be the bands fifth studio album, and is being released amidst a former band member having allegations made against him, meaning previous attempts to release other albums have been put on hold. Hopefully, this album will make it through and showcase BROCKHAMPTON’s internet inspired, poppy produced, boyband rap.
