Meghan Markle has achieved the goal of many girls by managing to get Prince Harry to settle down with her, meaning the rest of our generation has missed their chance to get anywhere near the throne. And Meghan Markle’s engagement ring is to die for.
With the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle comes an absolutely dazzling ring, experts value the jewellery at £122,500 and it is definitely worth the price tag. The Prince created the trilogy ring using two 0.75 karat diamonds from his late mother’s collection and a larger cushion cut diamond from Botswana, a place the couple have spent a lot of time together in the last 18 months. I am in love with just how perfectly the ring suits Meghan. Prince Harry has a great eye for jewellery! (I’m just a little bit sad it’s not made for my hand.)
The Royals have always had amazing taste when it came to their engagement rings. The Queen herself has a beautifully crafted and elegantly simple diamond ring, with all the diamonds coming from the tiara of Prince Phillip’s mother. With a platinum band, the ring really stands out next to her yellow gold wedding band and looks perfectly in place on her dainty hands. Prince William gave his mother’s ring to his bride and it so easy to see why! The Spectacular Sapphire ring is stunning, especially considering as it was just a normal ring out of a jeweller’s catalogue. The ring was quite the scandal when Princess Diana chose it as the royals usually have custom rings unavailable to the public.
Camilla’s ring might be the most unique in the Royal collection. Our future King gave her an art deco style ring supposedly given to the queen mother when Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926. The large square diamond is surrounded by smaller diamond baguettes and definitely makes a statement!
More square and dimensional, Prince Charles’ wife chose this three stone beauty.
A unique shade of orange/red with white diamonds as a border, one of Britain’s other royals has this stone.
Princess Sofia, another woman who was not royal originally before marrying Prince Carl Phillip of Sweden has a circular and less showy cut.
