Here’s What You Don’t Want To Forget For College Move In Day
Move in days can be stressful, we know that. Especially when you’re moving to a whole new city and place of study, there’s so much to do that you’re bound to forget something. But don’t panic, we’ve made a list for you of things you won’t want to forget for the day that you move to your new college/ uni.
1. Toiletries basket
Chances are, for first year at least, you’ll be sharing a shower, and you don’t want to be carrying armfuls of slippery shampoo and conditioner bottles to and from the bathroom every time you need a wash. So grab yourself a waterproof basket you can transport all your shower toiletries in. Tbh, even if got your own shower it’s a good way to keep things clean and tidy.

2. Flip-flops
On the same vein, there’s no guarantee that your shower is gonna be super clean, and if you’re anything like us, a shared shower floor is gonna gross you out. But have no fear, we’ve got your solution: flip-flops. Squishy, waterproof, and in a whole range of colours. You can thank us later.

3. Towels, omg towels
Now a towel really is the sort of thing that, if you forget it, it’s a crisis. It’s an essential, and believe us, you won’t be able to grab them at your corner shop. Remember, you’re not off to a hotel people, this is where you’re living for the next year so bring. A. Towel.

4. Door Stop
How are you gonna make friends with your flatmates if they’re always on the other side of the door? Prop it open, you’re much more likely to have impromptu chats with your neighbours in the first few weeks.

6. Tupperware
Now, if you’re not in catered accomodation, tupperware containers really are a must-have, in fact, they’ll stand you in good stead for your whole time at uni/ college. If you’re making you’re own meals most people make big batches, and freeze the leftover food for when you need a quick fix. This ain’t gonna happen if you haven’t got any containers to freeze your food in.Â

8. Desk Mirror
Chances are you’ll have some form of mirror in your dorm room already, but it’s always handy to have a little mirror at your desk for if you wanna sit down while you’re doing your makeup.

9. Desk Lamp
Another desk accessory that is indispensable when it comes to a college/ uni room. More often than not, room lighting in halls is pretty dim, and an extra light will definitely come in handy when you’re wanting to do your makeup/ study late.

10. Extension Lead
You’re gonna have a ton of things you need to plug in: fairylights, laptop cable, desk lamp, and not all of them are going to stretch to the plug, so an extension lead is gonna be pretty important.

11. Clothes Hangers
Clothes hangers are one of those things you’ve always had without really noticing them, which means they’re much more likely to be something you forget. Make sure you don’t, not all your clothes will fit stuffed into drawers.

12. Water Bottle
You don’t want to have to be buying a drink every time you leave the house, especially not on a student loan, and a good, sturdy water bottle is perfect if you get thirsty at the gym, during lectures, etc.
