6 Healthy Revision Snacks To Help You Stay Motivated

Fighting your food cravings when revising can feel like an impossible task. Here are 6 healthy revision snacks to help you stay motivated!

If you’re stuck in the library until late working on a deadline, it’s tempting to want to grab something out of the vending machine when you start to feel peckish. But research suggests that eating healthily instead can do wonders for your work ethic, and help you stay focused whilst studying. So do your brain some good and switch up that junk food for some delicious, nutritious snacks! Here are 6 healthy revision snacks to help you stay motivated!

1. Hummus and Carrot Sticks

Revision snacks don’t have to be complicated. Carrot sticks and a little hummus work just fine! Great for chomping on whilst working, this snack will definitely help satisfy those hunger cravings between meals. Carrots are a fantastic source of vitamin A (great for the brain), while hummus is an excellent source of fibre and protein. Together, they make one of the best revision snacks out there!

2. Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches

This snack will leave you feeling full and bursting with energy, and well equipped to take on another 4 hours of revision. Grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches are super easy to make, so there’s no excuse for not ditching the junk food for some of these! Plus, they’re delicious. Bananas are high in potassium, while peanut butter contains a lot of unsaturated fats, so together they make a nutritionally balanced revision snack.

Throw as much or as little peanut butter as you want onto some bread, add in some mashed bananas, and fry until the bread is golden. Amazing.

3. Yogurt Covered Blueberries

If you’re after a slightly sweeter snack, then yogurt covered blueberries are a great option. They make a fab alternative to munching on ice cream all day and are super simple to put together. Just take a pot of Greek yogurt and use a toothpick (or something similar) to pierce the blueberries and coat them in the yogurt. Pop the blueberries onto a tray and into the freezer for an hour or so, and voilà! You’re sorted.

If you aren’t a fan of blueberries, you could always substitute them for another berry of your choice. Revision snacks just got a whole lot tastier.

Although they don’t sound particularly appealing, kale crisps are actually surprisingly tasty. If you want to snack on something light and flavourful, then kale crisps are your answer. Kale is super healthy and provides more health benefits than I can name. It’s definitely a snack you should incorporate into your revision sessions.

Take some kale leaves, making sure that the stems are fully removed, and tear them into small pieces. Drizzle with some olive oil, and leave to bake for 10 to 15 minutes until crisp.
