Harry Potter Themed Mugs You Absolutely Need

Calling all wizards, witches, goblins, hippogriffs, dragons and yes, even you muggles! Even though the Harry Potter film series ended almost ten years ago, that doesn’t mean our obsession as Potterheads has diminished in any capacity. We still have the new film series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and we also have the broadway show of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child to tide over our Harry Potter obsessions.

We are still heading off to the Wizarding World, ready for class at Hogwarts and rightly so! The series left a tremendous impact on all millennials affected, so of course the books, films, and legacy will live on in our hearts. If you are die-hard Potterhead like us, you’ve likely collected a great deal many of Harry Potter themed merchandise over the years, because let’s face it, the marketplace for Harry Potter merchandise continues to expand and grow regardless of the original series’s end.

And for those of you who love your cuppa in the morning or the evening, you may just be thinking about adding a Harry Potter themed mug to your collection. To inspire you in the right direction, here’s a selection of Harry Potter themed mugs we think you’ll absolutely adore.

1. Honeydukes Mug

For you muggles who can’t really remember, Honeydukes is a marvellous little sweet shop located in Hogsmeade, with dozens and dozens of ‘the most succulent looking sweets imaginable’. With the quirky little logo printed neatly on to the mug, you’ll definitely be wanting to be drinking some of your sweetest tea or hot chocolate from this one.

2. Marauders Map Mug

There’s something utterly magical about the Marauders Map, and it has captured the attention and hearts of all Harry Potter fans everywhere. The sneaky and mischievous nature of the map gives us all the feelings of being nosy on the school grounds, and the way map disguises itself once ‘mischief’ has been ‘managed’ is just too clever for words.

But this Marauders Map mug is unlike others of its kind. When heat or hot water enter the mug, the design of the mug changes, much like a replication of the original map itself. For this reason, you can really sneak in a coffee at the office and once you’re done you can simply whisper ‘mischief managed’ and go back to work.

3. Still Waiting For My Owl Mug

Ah, aren’t we all? Waiting for a letter from Hogwarts, addressed to us revealing we are expected for class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Well, while this mug may remind you of the owl and letter that has yet to arrive in your mail, the design and typography will definitely enchant you.

This is the perfect travel mug to take on your morning commute also, which will not only save the environment with the unnecessary use of takeaway coffee cups but will have you looking extra Harry Potter obsessed to all wondering eyes.

4. Yer a Wizard, Harry Mug

Hagrid made history in the muggle world and for all Harry Potter fans included when he uttered those four famous words; ‘Yer a wizard, Harry.’ Soon the world grew to love the utterance and memes were made across the internet on Harry’s reaction to being deemed or called out as a wizard.

And with this gorgeous little ‘Yer a wizard, Harry’ mug, you can keep a little taste of your favourite Hagrid quote at your lips. The utterly gorgeous and intricate design of this mug has our hearts melting.

5. The Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley Mug

And no, this mug will not leak out your precious morning coffee. However, this is possibly one of the cutest Harry Potter themed mugs we’ve ever seen. Shaped somewhat like a small cauldron, you can use both hands to sip your coffee, tea or hot chocolate like the wizard or witch you are.

With the logo of both The Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley neatly and perfectly printed on either side of the outer face, this mug will be of all your friends’ enemy when you take this mug to work or a social setting. Regardless of that, this looks like cauldrons of fun to drink from!

6. Hedwig Mug

Oh, our dear, sweet beloved Hedwig. When Harry first learned of his magical ability, he was gifted a beautiful snow owl from Hagrid and named her Hedwig. Hedwig was faithful and loyal to our protagonist Harry throughout the series. She delivered letters for him and protected him from dangers in any way she could, but it soon caused her own demise by the final installation of the series.

Many fans are livid about Hedwig’s death still to this day, and if you are one of those fans included, this Hedwig mug will be giving you all the feels but in a very good way. Playful and characteristic, this mug is perfect to use as a statement to your Harry Potter obsession.

7. After All This Time Mug

One of the very quotes of the entire series that has completely captured all our hearts is exchanged between Dumbledore and Snape. When we discover that Snape was never truly evil but simply loved and devoted his life to Lily Potter, Harry’s mother, our hearts sank for him. He spent his whole life both protecting Harry and helping Dumbledore, but his whole heart belonged to Lily, regardless of where she chose to lead her life.

When Snape reveals his Patronus to Dumbledore, it reveals to be a silver doe, the same Patronus as Lily’s. Dumbledore puts the pieces together and realises Snape’s devotion to her still and asks, ‘Lily, after all this time?’ to which Snape replies, ‘always.’ It was a scene that broke all of the hearts, but Snape’s legacy and selflessness will live on within us, especially with a gorgeous mug like this one.
