This doesn’t mean go out and buy a new outfit if you don’t want to. But if you’ve had something lying around for a while and you’re looking for an excuse to wear it, put it on! You’ll impress your guests and feel more special on this night of music.
Lady Gaga is up for 5 big GRAMMY nominations due to her leading role in the movie A Star Is Born. With her Golden Globe win and Oscar buzz, all eyes are on her at the GRAMMYs.
The leading track Shallow charted high on Billboard and iTunes charts so anticipation is high for the big night. We look forward to seeing the red carpet fashion as well as what she will do at the award show. Because let’s face it, we never know what Lady Gaga will do next.
Cardi B is a free spirit who has been on a roll since the start of her career. With her popularity continuing to grow the media can’t get enough of her. It’s easy to see why. Cardi has had very public feuds with people and does not shy away from speaking her mind. There is no doubt that she will be part of the show’s most memorable moments no matter what she does.
Just like every award show, politics always make an appearance. The current political climate makes award shows a perfect platform for messages of unity and reassurance to the viewers. We can expect commentary on Trump’s America as well as women ruling the music scene in response to the 2018 comment made stating that women need to step up their game in order to win an award at the GRAMMYs. All in all, we are in for an interesting night where women rule the categories.
Official performers have not yet been announced but looking at the nominee list we can get an idea of the attendees who will take to the stage. Kendrick Lamar owns the GRAMMY Awards with 8 nominations so it is expected that he will put on a show to showcase his successful year in music.
Ariana Grande will be a hot topic on the night. After announcing that she has a new album coming out two days before GRAMMY night, there is no way of knowing what she will do on the night but we can expect nothing but the best. Drake and Post Malone are other strong nominees on the night within the hip-hop world who will no doubt entertain their fans with their smooth flow and chart-topping hits.
The GRAMMYs are known for bringing artists together. Past Award shows have provided us tributes to big stars and iconic music on the night. This year it is time for Aretha! The tribute to Aretha Franklin is sure to leave you dancing out of your seat and demanding some Respect for the Queen of Soul. Rest In Peace Aretha.
