1. The Hunna – Sunday, 25 September
With an upbeat indie-rock sound, this band showcases qualities similar to those of The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club. The Hunna is a cool four-piece band with a hipster image to match. Seven of their 12 shows have completely sold out, so get your tickets for their show at The Globe while they’re still available!
2. Flyying Colours – Saturday, 1 October
You might be feeling like you need a break from the stresses of university life already. If that’s the case, this psychedelic pop band will have you chilled for days with their music. re performing live at Clwb Ifor Bach this October and the tickets are just £6 a pop.
3. Marianas Trench – Tuesday, 4 October
You may not have heard of this American pop-punk band, but you most definitely would have heard the song “Call me Maybe.” Although sang by Carly Rae Jepsen, the track was written by the lead singer of the band, Josh Ramsay! You can see Mariana’s Trench at The Globe for just £11!
4. Flight Brigade – Wednesday, 5 October
A UK-based, alternative band with seven members – that sentence alone should be enough incentive to check out Flight Brigade. The band have described themselves as storytellers, and from their music videos alone, it’s clear to see that they would put on a great live performance. 5. Moose Blood – Thursday, 6 October
If you’re still into emo music and enjoy seeing bands that are still somewhat under the radar, then you should definitely check out Moose Blood. Gig tickets are still available for the affordable price of £13.75, and as they are performing at the Cardiff University Students’ Union, it’ll be a great place to meet like-minded students!
6. Twin Atlantic – Sunday, 9 October
This gig doesn’t come cheap, but with hundreds of thousands of views on their music videos, it’s one you won’t want to miss! The Glaswegian band have a unique selling point, as their lead singer’s Scottish accent remains clearly audible throughout all of their tracks, unlike some other bands from this side of the pond. Be sure to grab your tickets for Twin Atlantic, who are also playing at Y Plas.
7. High Tyde – Thursday, 3 November
The members in High Tyde are still all in their teens, which makes their music fresh and relevant. Although this up-and-coming band is relatively small right now, their music videos and image will no doubt catapult them into success. At just £8 a ticket, it’s well worth supporting their music and experiencing them live at Clwb Ifor Bach!
8. Panic! at the Disco – Friday, 18 November
If you are a diehard fan, you’ve probably already snagged a ticket to see this legendary pop-rock band from across the ocean, as it’s been awhile since they went on tour in the UK. Unfortunately, the Cardiff concert at Motorpoint Arena has already sold out, but don’t worry! Resale tickets are still available. Be warned, though; they come at a much heftier price!
9. Alter Bridge – Monday, 28 November
If sexy guitar riffs and headbanging is your thing, then Alter Bridge will most definitely be of interest to you. General admission is a whopping £35.70 but with their concert being held at the Motorpoint Arena, it’s a small price to pay for the overall experience with the American rock band.
10. Biffy Clyro – Tuesday, 6 December
With millions of views on their music videos, Biffy Clyro’s success speaks for itself. This Scottish band have been touring since their beginning in the late 90’s and will be touring throughout Europe this Autumn.
