Going on a first date is stressful enough, what with what you’ll wear and topics you should talk about. Arranging to go somewhere fun and suitable for both of you shouldn’t be one of them too. That’s why this list of 10 fun first date ideas for all you Londoners is a must-read for some inspiration!! I have included various activities and places to go which will allow you to chat, get to know each other and maybe playfully flirt to spice things up! Have fun with these great first date ideas London has to offer!
You may ask, ‘WTH is Ballie Ballerson?!’. Well, it’s an amazing cocktail bar that has a massive ball pit to play! Cocktails and an adult playground? YES PLEASE! It’s the perfect place to have a drink with your date as well as play a bit and discover each other’s fun side! I definitely recommend.
This is where your competitive side comes out and you actually want to win!! This arcade is the perfect place to have some fun on your first date! You can literally spend hours here and never get bored. Also, this place is good for a first date because you can chat with the other person while playing games! It’s in the heart of Soho so you can always go by and have some fun if you’re in the area!
“Skate, dine, bowl” is the new motto by Queens. It’s the perfect place to have fun on a first date! Bowling is unusual and not many people think about going bowling on a first date. It’s the perfect place to break the ice with a bit of fun and competitiveness and then maybe have a munch at the restaurant, and get to know each other some more!
Enjoy some reasonably priced cocktails at the top of the world! This bar is located at the top of the 20 Fenchurch Street skyscraper – also known as the ‘walkie talkie’ building – and you don’t have to book a table or pay anything to go up there! It’s a walk-in bar and the drinks are affordable for everyone. Enjoy the amazing view of London with your date without breaking the bank!
I would definitely recommend this place for a nice breakfast date in the morning! Everything on the menu is delicious and affordable and the view is great! This restaurant is located at the Shard and you can get there by the tube. I do recommend breakfast dates as they are not common for a first date and they’re actually really cute!
This is a great first date idea London has to offer for when the weather is warm and sunny! Head over to Borough Market, which is one of the biggest food markets in London, with your date, and have a look for any picnic nibbles. There’s so much variety in cheeses, ham, fruit and bread. You’ll feel hungry the minute you step into the market! After you’re done with your delicious food shopping you can go on a magical picnic! You can head over to: Jubilee Gardens, Bernie Spain Gardens or if you have time, Queen’s Park (with the tube – Jubilee line straight from London Bridge station outside the market) for the picnic.
Why not pretend you’re tourists and explore London together? There are so many free walking tours you can go on such as a Harry Potter walking tour or a street art walking tour . It’s so much fun! You’ll get to walk around together, chat and explore different areas together that you’ve never been to! If you don’t want a themed tour, you can organise a self-guided walking tour and visit all the landmarks London has! There are loads of places you can visit!
This is another fun place for a first date! You don’t really need to know a lot about golf, you just need to have good aim! It’s a great laugh, with crazy neon lights and bizarre holes! If you’re not good at this, you can always ask him to show you hehe
Honestly, going on dates is the perfect opportunity to go to places you want to go to when your friends are busy. You can visit unusual places like the Ice Bar for example. It’s a really cool place – no pun intended!!!- where you get to experience great cocktails and drinks at a bar kept at -5°C all year round. How cool is that?!
I know this sounds like a crazy idea but hear me out!!! My idea is that you arrange to go to Thorpe Park with your friends and his as a big group. The more the merrier they say, and that’s the main idea. Both of you will feel a bit more comfortable with your friends there but also you’ll get to spend time together! It’s a big park so you can always do a few rides alone and then join your friends again. And if it doesn’t work out with your date, you always have your friends close by.
