10 Foods That Will Get You In The Mood / Make You Horny AF

So for those of you that have seen the 2016 raunchy comedy: ‘Sausage Party’, you will know where I am going with the opening of this article. The film climaxes in a giant food orgy where hotdog sausages, hotdog buns, tortillas and tacos all allow their sexual desires to consume and control them. In the film there is an obvious link between food and sex as each character possess an extremely healthy libido. This link between food and sex is also transferable off of the screen, and into our daily lives (more specifically into the bedroom) where certain foods act as aphrodisiacs. So if you want to ensure you are really in the mood for a hot and heavy session under the sheets, then make sure you and your partner engage in a royal banquet of some of these foods that will get you in the mood beforehand:

1.Asparagus.

Yes, I know asparagus can make your wee smell but it is also proven to be one of the best foods to turn you on! Asparagus is also a rich source of Vitamin E which is involved in stimulating the production of sex hormones. So whether you prepare them as a starter or as a side for your main course, asparagus will certainly leave you in the mood for dessert – and I’m not just talking about the edible kind… These are some of the most random foods that will get you in the mood!

2.Chillies.

Chillies are notoriously hot foods so it comes as no surprise that they can get your blood pulsing and temperature rising in the bedroom. Chillies not only warm you up, they get your heart pumping, increase blood flow and stimulate nerve endings – all of which help to make you horny AF. So after eating these babies, you will be sweating for more than one reason!

3.Watermelon.

Who can resist a slice of watermelon? Especially when you know that it is proven to get you in the mood and all your private parts tingling! Watermelon contains citrulline which relaxes blood vessels in the same way that Viagra does. So instead of popping a pill to get you horny, eat a slice of two of watermelon instead! These are definitely some of the foods that will get you in the mood!

4.Bananas.

Have you noticed how all the foods so far are healthy ones? I am not lying to you to try to get you to eat more fruit and veg I swear! Besides the obviously phallic shape of bananas, they can also help to get you in a sexual mood due to them being a rich source of potassium which is thought to boost libido and which delivers muscle strength and technically intensifies orgasms. So peel a banana or two for guaranteed sexual stimulation.

5.Oysters.

Even though I am a pescatarian, I am repelled by the thought of oysters, it might be due to the dinner scene in White Chicks featuring Terry Crews’ abnormally large tongue, but despite my reservations, oysters are one of the most famous aphrodisiacs. These bad boys are high in zinc which helps to regulate sexual hormones as well as boosting semen production. The very act of eat oysters is also extremely sensual and erotic – think of all the slurping and tongue action involved!

6.Avacados.

This is probably the best fact I have heard in my entire life: the avocado’s name is derived from the Latin American Nahuatl word ‘ahuacatl’ which translates into testicle. Beside from the name making the link between avocados and an increased sex drive obvious, avocados are a great source of folic acid which is required for healthy nerve function, and also potassium which as said above, is thought to boost libido. These are some of the best foods that will get you in the mood!

7.Dark Chocolate.

So now we finally move onto a naughty food. It comes as no surprise that dark chocolate can get you in the mood given most bedroom scenes in movies involve couples feeding each other with chocolate coated strawberries! Dark chocolate has been proven to increase levels of dopamine, the feel-good chemical that stimulates the pleasure centres in the brain. So bite into a square or two to get you feeling horny!

8.Basil.

This fragrant herb is a secret weapon to get you in the mood. The smell alone is proven to get people going and turn them on. Basil also helps your heart pump extra blood, giving your face a healthy and attractive glow and stimulating nerve endings all round your body, leaving you burning all over… Basil is definitely one of the foods that will get you in the mood!

9.Almonds.

Again the smell of these nuts is thought to increase horniness levels, but almonds also help to increase stamina and testosterone to keep men going for longer. Point to take home: ladies always carry a bag of almonds with you!

10.Red Wine.

Okay so technically red wine is a drink but it contains grapes which are a food! A glass or two of red wine, being an alcoholic beverage, can help weaken inhibitions and make you more daring in the bedroom alongside increasing sexual desire. But I am not encouraging you to down a bottle every night- know your limits and be safe (in more than one sense of the word, always use a condom or some sort of contraceptive method).
