If you’ve never visited Hull before you are perhaps not familiar with the phrase “It’s never dull in Hull!” Aka there’s always something good going on. This mantra is most definitely extended to food too. Recently I had just been considering some of my favourite places to eat in Hull and I happily realised I had quite a few. Enjoy this list of some of the least dull and most Hull eateries that vary in price, genre, and cuisine but never quality. These are the best food places in Hull!
This vegetarian and vegan restaurant has a fantastic quirk. This restaurant doesn’t stick to just one cuisine, it caters a huge variety and loves a challenge. Read more about how the restaurant chooses what you are eating at Hitchcocks. It’s bring your own booze, eat as much as you want and has more cake than seen on the Great British Bake Off. Also it’s only £17 for students!! The cosy and friendly atmosphere is the perfect accompaniment to the inventive and delicious wide range of food served. Never ever dull.
It’s literally in the name. Dope. A local Hull establishment that has recently been expanding which has been exciting to see. If you want a hotdog or burger this is the place to come. The fries are also incredible, especially dipped in a side of burger sauce. Oh and guess what, they do a unicorn bagel burger. Mic drop. Check out how Dope they are.
Every time I have had the pizza from here it has never been dull! One of the best being the chicken kiev pizza, full of garlicy goodness. *heart eyes* The portions are huge plus they deliver, restaurants which do can be few and far between in Hull. Most definitely my go to place for pizza, check it out LaPizzeria.
If you are looking for a sophisticated evening this smaller ambient restaurant with its wide variety of delicious tapas never disappoints. They also have a very impressive bar, name a more iconic duo than great food and drink. The restaurant is also just beautiful, look for yourself at 1884. A more expensive night but worth the splurge.
Historically known for its fishing industry, it’s nice to eat somewhere in Hull that makes the most of the coastal location. ButlerWhites itself is located on the new and upcoming Humber street right by the marina. One of the best parts of this location is the busy and street side feel made possible buy both indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoy coastal sounds, smells and tastes all in one place.
Another great place to grab some tasty tapas. On the cheaper side, but this doesn’t refer to quality. This restaurant has a wide array of dishes and had a great environment to go to in groups. They also have really great booths making the sharing experience all that cosier. Putting the Ambient into tapas. This is one of the best food places in Hull!
A local Hull establishment that warms your heart and fills your belly any day of the week. Grab for lunch or spend more time on for tea. Any excuse for gravy and mash too. They have already thought of the pie combinations you didn’t know you needed. But seriously these Pies are well thought through and built by taste architects, really making sure it is never dull in Hull.
An exciting trip to try flavours from Bangladesh and India. The Madras Restaurant has a beautiful selection of dishes that never put the dull in Hull. Another perfect place to visit in large groups, depends if you like sharing your Bhuna or not… Would definitely recommend!
