The CFDA awards are one of the most highly anticipated awards show not only for the awards, but also for the hottest fashion looks on the red carpet, and this year did not disappoint. So many celebs turned out and put their best fashion foot forward, and the red carpet was inundated with amazing outfits. Here are just a few of the best looks at the CFDA awards.
Naomi Campbell – Calvin Klein
Naomi Campbell always looks amazing, and this year at the CFDA awards she did not disappoint. Naomi herself won Fashion Icon of the Year, and the designer of her dress, Calvin Klein, won Womenswear Designer of the Year, so clearly the pair are a match made in fashion heaven. The flapper-girl aesthetic shimmery fringe of her dress in a firey range of reds, paired with matching red court shoes, super sleek hair and a thick black choker make this look one of the hottest. Everything about this outfit is sleek and shiny, and Naomi herself is glowing. In a dress like tat, it’s easy to see why.
Kim Kardashian West – Rick Owens
Kim won Best Influencer, which makes perfect sense considering all she’s done for the fashion world in the past year. This amazing ensemble of a high-necked crop top paired with a flowing maxi skirt and gold bracelets make her look like a Grecian goddess, and the high ponytail with messy waves perfectly compliments her outfit by not drawing too much attention away from it, whilst still looking great. Her makeup is bronze smokey eye and nude lipstick, which compliments this look perfectly and gives her her signature smoulder.
Lupita Nyong’o – Versace and Alex Birman Shoes
Lupita Nyong’o pushed the boat out a little with this outfit, but it really works. This is one of the hottest looks of the CFDA awards simply because it is so out there, yet Lupita pulls it off effortlessly. The structure, strapless dress paired with the embellished choker look a little like Queen of Hearts chic, but Lupita’s slicked-back hair, minimal makeup and simple shoes prevent the look from being too Wonderland-esque. Lupita is known for wearing things with a little edge to red carpets, and this time she has done it again, and pulled it off perfectly.
Amber Heard – Michael Kors collection and Eva Fehern jewellery
It was not just men wearing suits to the awards, and because of how hot Amber Heard looks in this incredible outfit, she was definitely the best-dressed person in a suit at the CFDA awards. The gorgeous sequinned suit with a crips white shirt underneath, paired with amazing spiky earrings and voluminous licked-back hair has an edge that anyone would struggle to recreate. The confidence Amber Heard exudes in this outfit is palpable, and considering how great this look is, you can see why.
Soo Joo Park – Frame and Christian Louboutin shoes
Soo Joo Park is definitely pretty in pink in this simple low-cut midi dress by Frame. The simple cut of the dress with the slightly frilled edge and matching Christian Louboutin pink shoes with bows on are adorably sweet, but the edgy red nails, dark pink lipstick and smokey eye turn this look from super cute to super hot. This look was one of the hottest looks at the CFDA awards because it takes a fairly simple look then uses makeup to give it a funky edge that makes it stand out. Soo Joo Park actually forwent jewellery, but this decision was for the best, as this outfit actually uses makeup as an accessory – a cool and innovative idea that will surely be copied.
